If you have a new account and have not yet been online, you may receive an error message stating your account has been disabled. If this is the case, check your email for a registration confirmation email. Follow the directions in that email.
If you are banned, there are a few ways this can happen:
Violation of Westwood Online Rules of Conduct -
When you violate the rules of Westwood Online, you can be kicked offline or banned from the service.
Please note that with regard to language violations, we are a multinational service, and therefore we must consider words that are offensive in any country to be offensive on Westwood Online. Basically, consider any word that you would not allow a 10-year-old to say as offensive.
1) If a SYSOP catches you breaking a rule, you will usually get a warning, unless the violation is really severe. If you are kicked, the SYSOP will usually tell you why before you leave. In this instance, you may be banned from a particular channel only, or banned from Westwood Online for anywhere from a few minutes to permanently, depending on the situation. These bans can affect your serial number as well, either temporarily or permanently.
2) If you are banned by HELPBOT it will usually only last a few minutes, though longer lengths of time are possible depending on the word used. There are bots in several channels that monitor language being typed. If you use a word that is on the offensive list, you can be kicked or banned by the bot. This type of ban can also affect your serial number.
3) Serial numbers that are misused are banned permanently. If you are using a stolen, borrowed, published serial number and you receive an error message stating your serial number has been banned, this is why. 4) Violaion of tournament rules. The penalties for cheating are fairly simple-
First Offense: Warning!
- All accumulated points will be removed from contest records and the offender's score will be reset to zero.
- A warning email will be sent to the offending player notifying them of their rules violation.
- The offending players Westwood Studios account will be updated with a record of the rule violation. This information is never removed from the player profile.
Second Offense: Banning!
Offender's serial numbers will be banned permanently from all current and future Westwood Studios contests and tournaments.
If you are banned, you will just have to wait out the time.
