Freedom of speech...

Waarschijnlijk moet je even controleren of er nog ergens een default setting op 'letter' staat i.p.v. A4. Met name onder WindowsNT 4.0 is dit wel een veel voorkomende situatie.

HP LaserJet 4 Family Printers - PC, LC, or MP LOAD XXX Message Displayed on Control Panel

SOLUTION: Follow the steps below:
NOTE: The messages listed above can be cleared from the printer display by pressing the SHIFT and CONTINUE buttons on the printer simultaneously.

NOTE: Not all tray options are available with all HP LaserJet 4 family printers. This document does not apply to the HP LaserJet 4L/4ML printers.

Verify the media loaded into the desired tray on the printer is the correct size.
For example, if the message "MP Load Legal" is encountered, then verify that legal size paper is physically present in the MP (Multi-Purpose) tray. If the message "LC LOAD MONARCH" is encountered, then verify that Monarch paper is physically present in the LC (Lower Cassette) tray.
Verify the media size that the desired tray is configured for.
If using the universal PC (paper cassette) or LC (lower cassette), make sure the green paper size knob matches the desired media size. If selecting the MP tray for a document that requires legal size paper (for example), verify that the front panel shows that the MP tray is configured for legal.
