Dear Creamware support desk,
since about a year i own a ceamware powersampler with luna 2496 breakout box.
I really love it and recently purchased the luna 3 software wich is great!
I only have one problem wich i can't get rid of.
I have a really annoying hum/noise coming out of the card and mostly out of the seperate outputs of the Luna box.
I also have a Emagic audiowerk8 running in the same system without having any problems but i can't get rid of the noise coming out of the outputs.
It's not just a groundloop hum or something, mostly it's that you can hear the harddisk noise (the moving of the head) and it's even making noises when i move my mouse or when i open /close a window, it sounds a bit like listening to an AM radio.
My system is a pentium3 866mhz with 512MB, 2 x 45 gb ata100 hdd's, matrox g450 32mb dualhead videocard with 2 tft screens, aopen ax3s mainboard, Hp cd writer, audiowerk8 and a 3com ethernet card and i'm running a dual boot win 2000.
I tried removing the grounding of the computer, changing PCI slots, removing other cards, various rewirering of cables inside the computer, grounding cables, adding aluminium paper to the cables and card, changing power supply and but all without any result....
When i remove the firewire cable ofthe luna box the regular output of the card is allmost silent but not 100% completely, you can still hear the noise from the harddisk movement and mouse movements but the noiselevel is quite acceptable though not as it should work.
In the past i didn't have the problems and i didn't really change any big things in my studio since the noise started.
I hope you can really help me out on this one...
