"No user name or password field with the 2.5 client. (Last modified: 14FEB2001) (TID10018176)
Novell Client 3.2 for Windows 95/98
Novell Client 2.5 for Windows 95/98
Novell Client 3.1 SP1 for Windows 95/98
Microsoft Windows 95
Symptom
No user name or password field with the 2.5 client.
Unable to enter user name or password in the Novell GUI.
"OK" and "Advanced" buttons are grayed out on the Novell GUI.
The only available button on the GUI is the "Cancel" button.
Change
Not able to enter user name or password in the Novell GUI after upgrading to the Novell Client 2.5 for Windows 95/98 or later from Zen CD
Cause
Possible Causes:
1- Different versions of Active X controls on the same machine. Look for multiple listings of OLEAUT32.DLL and OLE32.DLL.
2- Anti-virus scanners that grab a file and do not release the files properly. Unloading anti-virus software or updating the software to the latest version sometimes solves this problem.
3- The active X support modules (Active X is installed during the MS operating system install) do not register or un-register any .OCX files. This is where the "OLE Initialize Failed" error can occur. The switches for REGSVR32.EXE can be found by going to START, RUN, and type REGSVR32.EXE .
Fix
Reregister the Active X configuration. There are six Active X configuration files that ship with the Z.E.N.works client. They are AX*.OCX files in the windows\system directory. To register these files, one at a time, run "REGSVR32.EXE <active x file name>." The REGSVR32.EXE file is also in the windows\system directory.
The two files that needed to be registered in this case are:
REGSVR32.EXE AXCRED.OCX
REGSVR32.EXE AXPRF.OCX
The following files will make the OK button and "advanced" button to appear
AXNDS.OCX
AXBNDRY.OCX
AXSCRIPT.OCX
blah... blah... "

Het lijkt er overigens op dat AXNDS.OCX, AXBNDRY.OCX, AXSCRIPT.OCX, etc... niet meer gebruikt worden in client 3.3.x.x
