Ik heb dus kernel 2.4.17 hergecompileerd & gepatched, die
hier: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/hedrick/
te vinden is.


Nou boot ik ermee, en vindt ie mijn chipset, maar ik zie nergens dat een /dev/* wordt toegekend.

Ik neem aan dat dit de HDs zijn die je aan je HPT370 hebt hangen.

Voor ondersteuning van je highpoint controller is de patch niet meer nodig in kernel 2.4.17. Ik neem maar even aan dat je de raid van je controller ook gebruikt(staat er niet bij, zou namelijk ook als twee losse hd gezien kunnen worden). Wat ik hier mis is eigenlijk de volgende regels:

Ik zie wel staan dat de "Autodetecting RAID arrays", dus ik weet dus niet helemaal zeker of je wel de goede raid(de htp370-raid en niet de linux software raid) hebt aangezet. Daarnaast moet je voor de /dev/* waarschijnlijk dit scriptje even uitvoeren:
