Ik had toen ik win xp installeerde een heel eind gepiep en gekraak in mijn geluid. ik heb een AOpen AK72 moederboard met via chipset, en ik hoorde dat meer mensen daar problemen mee hebben. Toen heb ik effe creative gemailt en die mailden een lijst door met mogelijke oplossingen:
There are numerous causes of and possible solutions to problems with bus noise with PCI soundcards. This can sound like scratching/hissing/crackling/popping and may sometimes get worse when eg. moving the mouse. Here are some possible solutions.
* Update the PC's BIOS.
* Enable "Enhanced Chip Performance" in the BIOS. This may not be present on all machines.
* In Device Manager, disable DMA for IDE Hard Disks and CD/DVD Drives - this is not relevant if they are SCSI drives. Unfortunately, this may also result in a performance decrease. To avoid this, the latest IDE Bus Master drivers should be installed for the system and DMA enabled. Here are the links to driver download pages of the majopr chipset manufacturers:

* In the BIOS, ensure that DMA mode for IDE devices is not enabled but instead set to AUTO.
* Try moving the soundcard to different PCI slots - the farther away from components like the Hard-Drive and Processor, the better.
* In the BIOS, try changing the latency value of the PCI-Bridge or PCI Latency to 0 - the default is 32. This helps in some cases and shouldn't have any negative impact on other hardware. * If there is a "Memory Hole" setting in the BIOS, try changing this from "disabled" to "15M-16M".
* If there is a PCI Graphic Card installed, ensure that both this and the soundcard are not sharing the same IRQ and try lowering the Hardware Acceleration of the Graphic Card. Also contact the Graphic Card manufacturer to see if there is a way to disable "PCI-retries" or similar. If the system has an AGP slot, it may be necessary to use an AGP graphic card instead of PCI.
