Klopt het overigens dat
www.themexp.org niet meer werkt?
Van het Neowin.net forum:
Hey - This is Greg, one of the owners of ThemeXP.
It's not DNS issues - Apache just simply isn't running for ThemeXP (which could cause quite a few problems ). We know what the problem is, but at this time we can't correct it. We're working damn hard to fix it - but unfortunately the solution doesn't depend on us (me and the other owner) - it depends on the owner of the server. Anyway - just to let you guys know we know what's going on and all the data is perfectly fine. With good luck, we should be back up tomorrow. With back luck, we'll have to move to a new server and it may take a couple of days (3-4). I think we should be able to resolve the issue and stay with the current server, but only time will tell. Sorry about this We're probably more mad/frustrated than you - especially since we can't do a thing about the problem

What happened:
We kept on crashing the server we were on, for unknown reasons (it'd just go down for like 10-15 minutes randomly - not sure why, since Apache wasn't overloaded and MySQL was fine..but that's an entire other discussion). The server owner didn't like that too much, since he had other sites on there, and since we had a friendly relationship with him, instead of a business relationship, he decided that he'd rather serve the sites he owned then ours. So he shut down our Apache server and denied us command line access. (Which actually sounds quite mean-spirited but the guy has been really cool to us while hosting this, so we have nothing against him). The nice thing is that I still have root access, since I've been logged in since forever So all the files and database is still there and I'll be downloading all of them shortly (gotta love cable modem).
The Future:
We're buying our own server and co-locating it at a faster location. This means that you should get faster transfer, plus it allows us to do whatever we want with the server, including hosting other domains. We're going to put in the DNS change ASAP, and hopefully we can get the server installed by Tuesday/Wednesday. We're buying the parts today and they've gotta ship to us, then we'll drive up to the server location and install it. Once we get the parts (should be Monday or Tuesday) we can drive up the next day and install it and the DNS should be done by then, so we're looking at a return by Tuesday/Wednesday. That's probable - at the very latest it'll be by the end of the week.
So overall ... but once we get back up, our situation is drastically improved so Plus, we might be able to stop hosting those damn pop-ups, which is ... (but I can't promise anything - it all depends on what kind of deal we can work out with the access provider). So, we're in a dark tunnel with a light at the end ... but for now we're stuck in the damn tunnel.
Dus vandaar.
