VG hub aan 10 Mbit hub knopen

Ik heb hiero een HP AdvanceStack J2410A 15 poorts 100VG hub met een stapeltje VGlan nics liggen, kan iemand uit leggen hoe ik die hub aan een normaal 10 Mbit hubje knoop? Kan dit überhaupt zonder bridge?

Je hebt een "VG Anylan<=>Ethernet bridge" nodig. Ik schat je kansen om een dergelijk apparaat te vinden echter niet hoog in.

HP heeft bij mijn weten wel van deze bridges geproduceerd maar aangezien VG Anylan niet echt zo'n doorslaand succes is geweest is het een schaars goed.

Als ik het goed heb kun je achterin de hub een bridge-module schuiven (ik weet dat het voor de J2415A zo werkt, die heb ik), beste kans om die te vinden is op eBay.
Een alternatief is een oude 486-er of P1 tot een routertje om te bouwen, op SCO, Linux of WinNT-basis.

Mjah ik was al bang dat er wat tussen moest... Even op ebay kijken.

Er zit vooral trouwens een plaatje waarop staat AUI/Xcvr slot, en achteraan een grote klep waarop staat expansion slot, daar kan iig iets in

install an HP 100VG SNMP/Bridge Module (product J2414B) in the back of the 100VG hub. The SNMP/Bridge module bridges 100VG to various 10Mbps technologies through the use of one of the following 10Mbps transceivers which you install in the SNMP/Bridge module:

HP Advancestack Twisted-Pair Transceiver Module (product J2607A)
HP Advancestack ThinLAN Transceiver Module (product J2608A)
HP Advancestack Fiber-Optic Transceiver Module (product J2606A)
Connect the transceiver to your 10Mbps network.
