Drivers en/of ie6 slipstreamen in win2k

na het checken van de faq enzo ben ik dus die sp2 eens gaan slipstreamen. Het werkt allemaal enzo, maar ik wil meer
Zo zou ik het wel relaxt vinden als ie6 ook geslipstreamd kon worden, en het belangrijkste: de promise drivers. Nu moet ik telkens die rotte floppy met promise drivers gaan zoeken, vooraan in setup op f6 rammen en hem die drivertjes geven... Nou weet ik wel dat ik via de scripts en i386\$oem$ drivers kan toevoegen, maar dat zijn (zover ik weet) niet de drivers die win2k tijdens het 'opstarten' van de setup leest. m.a.w. zal hij als ik die promise drivers daar neerzet waarschijnljik tijdens setup mijn raid-array nog niet zien...

Misschien een domme vraag, maar wat bedoel je met slipstreamen Zou je eens beknopt willen uitleggen wat dit inhoudt ?

Als je het SP2 slipstreamed, dan krijg je een W2K installatie met SP2 ingebakken. Je kunt die bv terug branden naar CD (en dan de CD bootable maken) en dan heb je een W2K installatie CD met SP2 ingebouwd. Sim-pel.

euh ja... dat snap ik dus ook wel

ik HEB dus sp2 geslipstreamt. Maar ik wil dus als het gaat OOK IE6 splipstreamen en eventueel drivers... dat staat er toch ook?

win2k OPK tool gebruiken , maakt ie een install aan die je bij de setup gebruikt , kan je gelijk je drivers ook in de setup aangeven en hoef je zelf niks meer te installeren enzow qua drivers.

moet je het natuurlijk wel ineens goed doen

Important: If you are planning to preinstall the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 operating system for the first time and you don't have any PCs running Windows 2000, please begin with Part A of this Quick Guide. If you already have Windows 2000 preinstalled and want to customize the new PC, please begin with Part D.

Part A - Installing Windows 2000

You must prepare for the unattended installation of Windows 2000 by performing some initial steps before you preinstall Windows 2000.


Choose a computer to use as the master computer and configure the boot order in the BIOS with the CD-ROM drive as the first device, the hard drive as the second device, and the floppy drive as the third device. 
Note: Your computer must have El-Torito No Emulation CD boot support if it is an x86-based platform. If your system does not support El-Torito No Emulation CD boot, see your Windows 2000 OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK) User Guide for information on installing Window 2000. 


Insert the Windows 2000 Professional CD into the CD-ROM drive of the master computer. 

Start the master computer so that it boots from the CD-ROM drive. Windows 2000 Setup starts automatically. Windows 2000 is installed in three stages: file copy, text-mode Setup, and GUI-mode Setup. At the conclusion of the first three phases of Setup, the operating system is completely installed. 
Part B - Creating a Winnt.sif Answer File


After Windows 2000 is installed on the master computer, build an answer file for unattended installation of Window 2000 using Setup Manager Wizard (Setupmgr.exe). You can find the Preinstallation Tools in the \support\tools\deploy.cab file on the OEM Windows 2000 Professional product media that comes in every OEM 3-pack from your local Microsoft OEM Authorized Distributor. Double-Click Setupmgr.exe to start Setup Manager Wizard and create a new answer file. 

Follow the wizard's on-screen instructions until you reach the screen asking to build the Distribution Folder. Here, select the option No, this answer file will be used to install from a CD and click Next to move to the Answer File screen. 

At the Answer File screen, make sure you have a disk in drive A, type A:\Winnt.sif, and click Next. This brings up the Completing the Windows 2000 Setup Manager Wizard screen with the following information: 

The Setup Manager Wizard completed successfully. The following files were created
A:\Winnt.sif
A:\Winnt.bat
Click Finish to exit Setup Manager Wizard and label the floppy disk that you created as Windows 2000 Unattended Disk. Now you are ready to preinstall Windows 2000. 
Part C - Preinstalling Windows 2000 from CD

Note: If you select the Fully Automated option in the User Interaction screen of Windows 2000 Setup Manager Wizard, you will need to manually add the ProductID value under the [UserData] section of the Winnt.sif file using a text editor. This is necessary to fully automate the installation of Windows 2000.


On the target computer that you want to preinstall, configure the boot order in the BIOS with the CD-ROM drive as the first device, the hard drive as the second device, and the floppy drive as the third device.
Note: Your computer must have El-Torito No Emulation CD boot support if it is an x86-based platform. 


When the Windows 2000 Setup blue menu screen appears, insert the Windows 2000 Unattended Disk with the Winnt.sif answer file, which you just created. Windows 2000 Setup starts automatically. Windows 2000 is installed in three stages: file copy, text-mode Setup, and GUI-mode Setup. At the conclusion of the first three phases of Setup, the operating system is completely installed. 

Remove the floppy disk. 

Restart the computer and boot into Windows 2000 to audit the system and manually brand it before you run Sysprep and ship it to your customer.
