Ik heb zelf een Hercules 3d Prophet 4500 64 MB kaart in mijn pc zitten maar ik krijg deze videokaart niet goed ingesteld in xf86config
Hij crasht de hele tijd als ik startx intyp

Weet iemand hoe dit zou komen?

Dat is toch een kaart met kyro 2 chip? Je zult nog tot februari moeten wachten op een kyro2 driver.
Of je moet er geen bezwaar tegen hebben om in unaccelerated frame buffer modus te werken.

Als ik me niet vergis staat dit standaard aan bij een verse Slackware 8 installatie.
Bestanden kun je bewerken met bv. pico of vim

Deze werkt dus wel gewoon, maar nu moet ik de hele tijd gaan scrollen om naar de andere kant van de desktop te gaan. Hoe kan ik veranderen dat die grootte dan ook echt 640x480 wordt ipv 1024x768 waarbij scrolling nodig is

Als dit werkt dan heb ik het de hele tijd verkeerd gehad...
Ik kan het nu maximaal op 1024x768x16 krijgen :)
En het venster is nu ook goed ingesteld zodat ik niet meer hoef te scrollen
