Adaptec 19160 bios weg..?help!

Ik heb van mijn collega een controller Adaptec Ultra 19160 SCSI meegekregen.
Hier zijn problemen mee.Start niet meer via SCSI op, blauwe schermen enz..
Ik heb de controller bij mij in de computer gedaan en geinstalleerd.
Hij doet het op zich goed NADAT het zaakje opgestart is,
Dus niet in de boot te zien!
Ik heb gekeken of ik de bios kon flaschen maar nee: het flash proggie ziet GÉÉN bios!?!
Zelf heb ik het vermoeden dat hij zelf geflashed heeft en er iets misgegaan is??

Vraag:

waarom ziet de computer de bios niet als ik opstart en wat te doen?
Hoe krijg ik de bios er weer op?
Is er nog redding mogelijk?

Kan je tijdens het opstarten niet op CTRL-A of CTRL-Q drukken. Dit doe je normaal als je de bios te zien krijgt om in de settings te geraken. Je zal moeten gokken wanneer je op CTRL-A of CTRL-Q drukt. Denk niet dat er nog jumpers zijn om verbose mode aan te schakelen.

Dit heb ik diverse malen geprobeerd zonder resultaat
Verder kan ik niets van jumpers vinden, althans in de beschrijving.

Zou dit werkelijk het einde van de kaart betekenen??

Weet er niemand een oplossing

Word er tijdens het booten een lijst getoond van aangesloten apparaten?. Je kan kijken of het bios geladen wordt als er een HD aan de controller hangt.

Nee, helaas niet, nix te zien, en niet in de bios van de kaart te komen
Ik denk haast dat de beste oplossing terugsturen is, jammer dat ik hem niet kan helpen.
Tja moet ie maar niet klooien met iets waar hij nix vanaf weet...toch?!!

waarschijnlijk heeft ie inderdaad een 'oem' bios erin geprobeerd te flashen (biossen die worden gemaakt voor de adaptecs zoals je die op kant en klare mainboards wel eens ziet (asus etc))

[SCSI controller card failed during Flash BIOS upgrade.

Question
I was in the process of updating the BIOS on a SCSI controller card and during the Flashing process the BIOS upgrade failed to complete.

My card no longer works and I cannot see the BIOS Banner during the POST (Power On Self Test) cycle of the computer and the controller now fails.

I was in a process of upgrading my controller BIOS and it failed. Now I can not detect my controller when I boot the system. It will not even post the BIOS message. I attempted to restore the BIOS, but it failed to detect the card. How can I resolve this issue?

Answer
This could be caused by any factor like a resource conflict (I/O, Memory address), timing in the PCI Bus or simply an interruption during the flash process.

You can try retrieving the controller by re-flashing the controller BIOS on another computer. Make sure there are "NO" SCSI device/s attached on the controller during the flash upgrade. The easiest way to do this is to disconnect any and all interface cables attached to the controller while the system is in a turned off.

If you don't have another computer, then try disconnecting all devices attached on the controller and attempt to restore the first previous BIOS that was on the controller.

If this also fails to bring the controller back from the dead.

Disconnect all controllers inside your computer. Leave the video card and the SCSI card as the only cards in your system (this will avoid a possible conflict during the upgrade process.)

- Attempt to re-flash the controller and see if it is successful.

If you power up the system and the SCSI BIOS still does not post on your screen, then reboot the system again and press "Ctrl-A" continuously after the memory count. Press in both buttons in increments of 2 seconds apart and despite what may be showing on the screen, keep on pressing it until boot process completes.

- If the SCSI Select BIOS message appears and you're able to access the utility:

· Go to "Configure View Host Adapter Settings"
· Go to "Advanced Configuration Options"

Make sure "Host Adapter BIOS" and "Display Ctrl-A Message" is enabled.

- If the BIOS or SCSI Select message does not appear at all, then it may be that the controller is either defective or has failed.

Ik ben er wel achter dat de bios er wel is, misschien toch iets anders aan de hand?!
