ooit komt er een einde aan het eind
Q1: How does a Workstation board differ from a game board?
A1:
When you compare the FIRE GL 8700 workstation product to a high-end 3D game card the requirements and differences are substantial. For example, Workstation boards are used to create the models/environments you see in your games while game cards are designed to play the game.
While game requirements are focused on high frame rates Play-It, the workstation product needs to address the problems of working with very advanced & complex applications that simultaneously run in wire-frame and shaded mode with numerous windows and menus being opened or closed Create-It. Listed below are the some of the major differences:
Optimized For Superior OpenGL Performance
ISV Certification for greater Application Stability & Reliability
Application Customization for End User--ease of use
OpenGL Extensions
Dedicated team of workstation support & development engineers
Q5: Are the FIRE GL 8800 and FIRE GL 8700 only designed to take advantage of Open GL®?
A5:
No, both the FIRE GL 8800 and FIRE GL 8700 provide full support for DirectX® 8.1. Other graphic manufactures may only offer one solution that provides OpenGL®, but no DirectX® support for workstation customers. ATI's solution is to provide our customers with one product that fully supports and accelerates both OpenGL® and DirectX® 8.1 applications.

Just pick a dead end and chill out 'till you die.
