[2k] Prioriteit van programma veranderen, lukt niet :(

Eey tweakers,

volgens mij heb ik een redelijk groot probleem.

Het zit namelijk zo. Ik had de prioriteit van winroute.exe op hoog gezet en dat vond mijn systeem niet zo leuk

Nu krijg ik die prioriteit niet meer op normaal. Windows komt dan met de melding: toegang geweigerd.

Ik heb de search gebruikt, maar daar kwam ik echt niet verder mee

Hopelijk kan iemand me ermee helpen om hem weer op normaal te krijgen...

Anders word het misschien wel een herinstall

misschien wel handig om er bij te vermelden welke windows... je kan overwegen om System Restore Point te gebruiken, zeker als dit niet al te lang geleden is. Bij XP kan dat heel makkelijk, ME geloof ik ook, win2k weet ik eigenlijk niet zeker.

Win2k draai ik trouwens. Heb winroute al opnieuw geinstalleerd en register beetje opgeschoond, maar dat hielp ook niet

Ik schop dit topic ff weer omhoog vanwege het volgende waar ik me helemaal kapot aan erger !!!!

Ik heb dus mijn schijf geformateerd en Win2k er opnieuw opgezet. En zo ook Winroute.

Blijft die prioriteit gewoon op hoog staan !!! AARRRGHHH
Ik snap niet hoe dat nou mogelijk is...

Het is tenslotte een compleet nieuwe installatie !!

Heeft iemand een idee wat dit kan zijn ???

WIN XP/2000/NT USERS - HOW TO RUN AC2 @ HIGH PRIORITY

Here is the way to permanently change (as long as you dont undo the changes) ac2 to run at above normal priority or high priority which will make the game run faster and smoother. Its a great improvement for lower and mid end computers below 2gig cpu. I recommend it to everyone!

(Special Note) Everyone whos doesnt work right or they cant seem to change a txt file to a bat file you need to go into your ac2 folder then go to the tools tab at the top -> folder options -> View -> then scroll down to "hide extentions for known file types" and make sure the box is UNCHECKED
*Explaination Because by default windows xp doesnt allow you to change a .txt file to .bat but if you uncheck that box it allows you to change file types. Now follow the steps below exactly and you shouldnt have any problems.


INSTRUCTIONS

Create a new text file INSIDE the Asheron's Call 2 folder (the folder should be in your program files in the microsoft games folder) name this new file ac2client.txt and once you save it then rename it ac2client.bat It should switch to a .bat file instead of a txt file. (If it doesnt change to a .bat file read the special note above) The icon will look like a gear in a box.

Edit this .bat file, so that it only contains ONE the following lines:

For Above Normal CPU Usage use only the line below exactly including the star at the end.

start /abovenormal ac2client.exe %*

*Above normal priority is recommended if you like to alt-tab to check quest walk throughs. High Priority will make alt tabbing alot slower and surfing the web very very slow and is not recommended*

For High CPU Usage use only the following line exactly.

start /high ac2client.exe %*

Save it.

Now, edit your ac2l.ini file in the same directory, and find the line that reads:

GameExe = "ac2client.exe"

and change the .exe to .bat to have it point to your newly created batch file.

Now your game permanently runs on above normal or high CPU usage which will result in greater ac2 performance!

I've set my ac2 up for high priority on my 1.9ghz p4, 512 ram, gf4 ti4600 machine and have gone from running on 1280x1024 and medium settings(for performance reasons) to running high to very high graphics settings in every category on the same resolution with all shadows, water effects, light effects maxed out as well as anti-aliasing(which will greatly bog down some vid cards) on. It's running amazing and is like playing a completely different game. The world looked good before, now it looks alive.
