Installatie WinXP lukt niet

Ik heb echt alles geprobeerd op XP te installeren op mijn systeem.

Ik denk dat t aan mijn moederbord ligt: Abit KA7 met nieuwste bios TY versie.

Windows2000 (installatie en draaien) werkt perfekt! Maar XP is heb ik op de volgende manieren geprobeerd:

- Geformateerde FAT16 HDD, WinXP booten van cd. Installatie crasht. (met 0x0000007B)
- Installeren Win98 en upgraden naar XP. Loopt na reboot vast met zelfde foutmelding. (Telkens op het moment dat het OS moet beginnen met installatie)

Ik heb een scsi mini-driver geprobeerd van mn scsi adapter, maar helpt niet.

Ik heb t idee dat die Devilsown versie bij lange na niet een final versie is.

STOP message 0x0000007B

Descriptive text: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

Usual cause: A problem occurring during the initialization of the I/O system (usually the startup device or the file system).

Solution:

Check for viruses on your computer. This STOP message is frequently displayed when there is a virus in the boot sector.
For ways to fix your drive, see Disaster recovery overview and The Recovery Console.
Remove any newly added hard drives or controllers.
If you're using a SCSI adapter, obtain the latest Windows 2000 driver from the adapter vendor, disable sync negotiation, check termination, and check the SCSI IDs of the devices.
If you're using IDE devices, define the on-board IDE port to Primary only. Check the Master/Slave/Only settings for the IDE devices. Remove all IDE devices except for the hard disk.
Run CHKDSK. The file system could be corrupt. If Windows 2000 can't run CHKDSK, you might have to move the drive to another computer running Windows 2000 and run the CHKDSK command on that drive.
Restart your computer. At the startup screen, press F8 for Advanced Startup options, and then select Last Known Good Configuration.

When you use Last Known Good Configuration, system setting changes made after the last successful startup are lost.

hmmm zover was ik zelf ook nog gekomen.

Waar dat verhaal van Microsoft op neer komt is dat mijn SCSI adapter ineens niet werkt onder WindowsXP. XP ondersteunt mijn hardware gewoon niet goed zelfs niet met de laatste scsi mini-drivers van Diamond (wat allang dood is en de Fireport 40 inmiddels Legacy verklaart heeft).

Ik snap gewoon MS niet dat ze ondersteuning er uit hebben gesloopt voor 'oudere' maar wel zeer goed werkende hardware. Zoals ik al zei, met installeren van Windows 2000 heb ik dit probleem niet.

Yup, nu ik je kaarttype weet kan ik dat ook bevestigen.

Hiero zie je datie eigenlijk alleen goed getest is op Win2k.

Eigenlijk is het de taak van de Manufacturer om drivers te bouwen voor verschillende Osjes, maar dat wordt nu natuurlijk moeilijk.

Nu weet ik ZEKER dat t niet werkt EN t wordt min of meer bevestigd door jou link.

Ik heb net maar ff mail gestuurd naar die Diamond technical support. Dat t dus niet werkt.

Als W2k toch perfect werkt, dan is de keuze toch eenvoudig? Blijf gewoon bij W2K want XP brengt toch niet echt veel nieuws.
