Dualboot winxp + win98

Hoe kan je dat doen?, ik heb nu winxp erop staan (en dat draait zo erg super dat ik hem er niet af wilt halen), maar voor me tnt2 die niet wilt werken met tv-out en onder 98 wel wil ik er 98 op zetten. Een manier is natuurlijk de zooi te formateren, 98 erop, winxp erop en dan kan je automatisch dualboot laten maken....

Maar hoe doe je dat als je al winxp heb?, gewoon onder dos ander schrijf laten installen (98), en dan?, hoe kan je zo'n lijstje krijgen bijvoorbeeld waarbij je kan kiezen welke OS je wilt gebruiken?

Solution: Installing Windows 95, 98, Me to an Existing Windows 2000 System

1. From the Disk drop-down list, select the disk containing the Windows 2000 partition.


2. Right-click the Windows 2000 partition and select Resize/Move.


3. In the Free Space After field, enter the total size for the Windows 95/98/Me partition.

IMPORTANT! Windows 2000, 95, 98, and Me boot partitions must all start below the 8 GB boundary.


4. Click OK.


5. Right-click the unallocated space where the Windows 95/98/Me partition will be created and click Create.


6. From the Create As drop-down list, select Primary Partition.


7. If you are installing Window 98/Me, select FAT32 from the Partition Type drop-down list. If you are installing Windows 95A, you must select FAT16.


8. Enter a descriptive name for the partition in the Label field.


9. Verify that the size specified in the Size field is sufficient to install Windows 95/98/Me.


10. Click OK.


11. Right-click the new partition, select Advanced, and click Set Active.


12. Click OK.


13. Click Apply Changes.


14. Click Yes to reboot the computer and make the necessary changes.


15. Once the partition changes are applied and before the computer reboots again, insert the installation boot diskette for the version of Windows you are installing.


16. Once you have completed installing Windows, you may install BootMagic so you can choose which operating system to boot when the computer starts up.

sorry voor late antwoord...
tnxs in ieder geval, maar had nog een vraagje:

Ik heb dus een aparte partitie:
Ik ga morgen dit doen, dan moeten jullie even zeggen of dit gaat werken:

-Ik formateer die partitie... (is maar 500 mb trouwens), was medoel als swap-drive)
-Ik installeer windows 98 op deze partitie
-Ik wijs met bootmagic aan dat je kan kiezen tussen winxp en win98>

Ik hoop dat het gaat werken. Het is veel makkelijker om XP naast 98 te installeren als omgekeerd.
Dus misschien toch overwegen om 98 gewoon te installeren, en dan XP opnieuw. Dan werkt het gewoon vanzelf in 1 keer goed.

ik heb hetzelfde probleem alleen ik heb een geforce en me tv out doet het niet goed onder XP
dus heb er eerst win98 opgezet en daarna winXP gaat allemaal goed xp helemaal geisntallt wil ik ff kijken of ik wee rik win98 kan komen is me dualbootmenu weg kijk ik op c:\boot.ini staat er alleen nog winxp in en geen win98 meer kan iemand me vertellen hoe die boot.ini er voor win98 en winxp eruit moet zien heb al het 1 en ander geprobeert maar win98 wil maar niet starten.. heb het allebei op 1 partitie staan maar dat was met win98 en win2k eerst ook geen probleem dus meschien iemand die boot.ini voor me heeft ?

ik probeer het gewoon, lijkt me niet dat er iets vreselijks kan gebeuren toch?, als je maar verschillende schijven gebruikt...
