Xp en Messenger...

Is er ook een manier om de messenger te uninstallen binnen windows XP.

Ik vind hem machtig irritant en doe er eigenlijk nix mee...

gewoon lekker laten zitten, neemt verrekte weinig ruimte in. wel alle opties als "starten bij bootup" enzo uitzetten.

Dit werkt (je uninstalleert het niet, maar je zorgt ervoor dat het niet meer kan opstarten):

1. Disable Simple file sharing in Folder Options
2. Ga naar de map c:\Program Files\Messenger, klik op Properties, ga naar de Security Tab.
3. Haal alle rechten weg voor de users die MSN niet willen gebruiken (dus iedereen meestal ).

Op die manier kun je ook in je hotmail inloggen zonder dat ie MSN in de tray opstart (wat ie anders wel doet) en een entry in je register maakt dat MSN opgestart moet worden.

-Windows Messenger

Here you can enable
"Do not allow Windows Messenger to be run"
and
"Do not automatically start Windows Messenger initially"

en dan uninstall >>

Navigate to C:\windows\inf\
Open sysoc.inf
find msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 in the file and take out the word hide so the line would look like msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7
Close the file and save it
Now go to the Add and remove programs applet in the control panel and you will be able to uninstall windows messenger.
Make sure to click on the add remove windows components button!

Heel goed, AF, bedankt. Daar stond ook onderaan de optie om die nog irritantere dan het voorheen al was Autoplay feature uit te zetten.

Mmmh, iets te vroeg gejuigd, nu start outlook express pas op na 30sec (heb de msn niet gedeinstalled, alleen gedeactiveerd)
