WinDVD 3.0 - WinDVD 3.0 should be coming soon, at the end of May. New features includes :
DTS 5.1 license
Dolby digital 5.1
Dolby headphone license
variable speed FF and RW up to 20x faster and slower
audio slowdown and speedup from 50% to 200%
direct access to overlay surface controls if your card supports them

DTS Decoding support in WinDVD 3.0

DTS decoding will mean that you can now actually hear DTS DVDs on your PC, which is a feature that has been lacking for a long time now. If you can read Japanese, there is more information on the Canopus site - or you can use Bablefish to translate the webpage to English.

Oh ja, ik heb WinDVD en PowerDVD uitvoerig getest. Ik had TV out kuren met WinDVD, maar nu niet meer. Bij de Matrox instellingen ff crop source of zoiets aangefinkt:)
CPU verbruik van PowerDVD: 80%
CPU verbruik van WinDVD: 60%
Beide in stereomode. Met 6 kanalen onder WinME wint PowerDVD het, maar veroorzaakt blauwe schermen.
Verder heeft WinDVD iets beter beeld.
Sterker nog, ik ga die versie 3 kopen ipv leechen straks.
Klein nadeeltje van WinDVD: TV out werkt niet als monitor op 1280x960 staat.

Wel mooi, DTS kan veel uitmaken. But then again, moet je wel wat fatsoenlijke boxen hebben die het ook mooi kunnen weergeven, en dus moet je je pc al aansluiten op je stereo waar dus weer minstens 5 speakers aan moeten hangen wil je wat hebben dat echt ervan profiteert. Desondanks leuk dat het er is nu, of je hebt het al op je decoderkaart zitten natuurlijk...
