[BC3] Windows of Hardware bug?

Hallo,

Ik heb eergister (vrijdag) me nieuwe systeem opgehaald maar tot mijn verbazing geeft ie niks anders dan problemen, het gaat om het volgende systeem : AMD athlon 1200Mhz , Voodoo 3 3000 , maxtor 30gb 7200 rpm , ctx 19" monitor , liteon dvd + hp 9350i , Abit kt7a raid , soundblaster pci 128

als ik winME erop heb gezet dan doet niks het nog (doh!) nadat ik me drivers van me mobo, vga , werkt alles goed zonder geluid dan installeer ik de soundcard en het systeem crashed om de zoveel tijd als hij crashed dan is het meestal wanneer er geluid output is dus wanneer je in een game of mp3 zit, al haal ik mijn soundcard eruit dan doet ie het weer gewoon, ik heb hem ook al voor een soundblaster 16 pnp (isa) veranderdt maar geen succes percies het zelfde verhaal

Weet iemand hier een oplossing voor of heeft wat tips?

Jep, voodoo 3 driver gedownload van www.3dfx.com en de soundcard zit een cd rom bij die je dan installeerd het moederbord ook hetzelfde verhaal

Some users report the above problem and find that selecting "15M-16M" for the Memory Hole in the Advanced Chipset Features page of the BIOS solves this problem. Note that this problem is frequently reported with the Soundblaster PCI128 and Soundblaster Live! Value cards. Under Linux you will need to also modify a configuration file - see BIOS section. Do not enable this option unless you actually experience problems - for some users this setting actually causes instabilities!

Another common cause for this problem is the Soundblaster Emulation feature of many makes of soundcard. This mode emulates an ISA SB16 card, which is unable to share IRQs or DMA with other cards. See "Why does my computer hang when my sound card initialises SB16 emulation on my KT7-RAID?" below.

How can I make my system stable with a Soundblaster Live! card?
On my system I have a Soundblaster 1024 Live! Player card installed under Windows Me, with ACPI enabled, Liveware 3.0! and default voltages, without a single problem! The faults are therefore intermittent and likely due to a particular combination of cards.

The most common cause of difficulty is the SB16 emulation that the drivers seem to automatically install. This emulates an old ISA driver, which cannot share resources, and thus causes your system to hang when another device unwittingly shares. See "Why does my computer hang when my sound card initializes SB16 emulation on my KT7-RAID?" below.

zit je geluidskaart in PCI slot 5?
bij de normale KT7-raid waren hier problemen mee als je iets in slot 5 had ziiten, of dit ook zo is bij de KT7a weet ik niet

ik heb hem in slot 3 gedaan pci natuurlijk maar geen verandering in games en mp3''s hangt ie nog steeds

Oh ik kan bij 640x480 etc. toch wel hogere refresh rates instellen, maar alleen maar 60,75,85,110 en 130 Hz of zoiets. 90 Hz staat er dus nooit bij. Hoe kan ik dat er wel bij krijgen? (ik wil namelijk wel 1280x960 @ 90 of 95 Hz)

Je probleem komt me bekent voor. Je kan zeker wel inlogen maar daar na niets.???
Oplosing ( uit FAQ SbLive)
iRQ 5 aan ISA slot toe wijzen in je Bios.
van uit gaande dat je geen COM , Printer en of USB poorten hebt uitgechakelt.
