Here is how to make a q3 movie from a demo. First I bound cl_avidemo 20 to a key and cl_avidemo 0 to a key. The "20" stands for how many screenshots you want to take in a second, make sure your hd has a couple GB free and you have a decent comp. Then do the following:
Open q3, pick a demo you want to convert to avi, pull down the console and type /bind F5 cl_avidemo 20 then /bind F6 cl_avidemo 0
Now start to play the q3 demo, when you get to the point you want to record part of the demo hit F5, your system will start to run choppy in the demo, that means it is working and it is taking a crapload of screenshots. When you get to the point you want to stop the avi hit F6. Now, exit out of q3, if you look in your baseq/screenshots folder there should be a bunch of screenshots (20/sec x 20 seconds = 400 screenshots).
You are done with the hard part, the next part is to go download this proggy:
http://www.css.tayloru.edu/~btoll/f99/350/res/pjBmp2Avi.zip
unzip and run the exe, it will ask for the input file, go to baseq/screenshots and click .tga in the proggy on the left side. It will list all of your screenshots, click on create and choose if you want avi or mpg format. Mpg will be much smaller then the avi file. Click create and it will compile the avi movie in your screenshots directory.
Wallah! When you are done you have the movie and you just need the divx extensions which can be downloaded here:
http://perso.club-internet.fr/ches/dvd/divx/divx_3.11alpha.zip
Now, to add sound you have to convert the file to a .wav format and trim it to the same time length as your avi q3 demo will be. Do the same steps above and make sure the wav file is in the same directory as the tga screenshots, add the wav file to the compiler and create the avi. This time you have your 30 second avi with some music as a theme.
If your comp runs into problems with cl_avidemo 20 try setting it to 10 instead, the faster computer you have the more you can up the anti on screenshots per second.
that''s it

Je kan ze laten spelen en ondertussen capturen met een videocapture-tool.
Dan hoop ik alleen wel dat je een CPU hebt die behoorlijk wat
