[BC3] Nieuwe client UD

Ik kreeg net een mailtje van Chris van UD:

de nieuwe (beta) client is er.

Als je em download, krijg je nog wel de oude client, maar als ie dan z''n eerste packet af heeft, gaat ie updaten naar v1.1 (2428).

Zo te zien hebben ze echt iets gedaan aan het lange-WU-probleem: 29% in 11 mins

Ik hoop dat het zo doorgaat, zodat we met DPC eindelijk weer eens gaan stijgen

Yup, draai nu zowel de Alpha-, Beta- als produktieversie, en de verschillen zijn verrekte goed duidelijk.

Hopelijk brengen ze hem ASAP final, dan kunnen er weer wat meer DPC-ers UD gaan doen.

Is ie ook stabieler? En gaan ze nu ook over op eenduidigere stats (cpu-time, results, hits etc.)?

Maar blij dat er in ieder geval progressie in zit!

Alpha:

improved CRC code of all files. Causing the redownload of all files to happen far less often.

improved think that you have already been testing

improved agent backoff to handle rogue type connections. Rogues are agents that constantly download and comback to the server for more download. Many cases this is caused the CRC bug. This will reduce the load on our server.

improved cpu detection. Just a display issue of the name of the processor. Says celeron instead of PII now.

improved error messages along the status area.

notification of why agent is not executing. "Paused due to device preferences"

improved handling of corrections that occure while setting proxy setting at inital login screen. Previously you could not correct the information you provided.

Beta:

Beta will for the first 15 - 20 hours be exactly like the current production environment. Agent version 1.1(2423) with Think version 1.03d(2423).

I will then be doing a migration to migrate all users from version 1.1(2423) to version 1.1(2428) with 1.03d(2428) Think. This will occure sometime around 12pm CST Friday.

Kunnen we binnenkort ook al meerdere WU''s downloaden zodat m''n computer wat minder vaak stil staat?

Dat is nog niet bekend, want de client update pas als je een WU-tje klaar heb, en dat heb ik nog niet
