Hi. Just to clarify a few things about my book. It was my first attempt at translating thought to paper and balls to words. In the beginning I definitely over-explained things. I chronicled the movement of vertices and the division of edges with much didactic aplomb. As the book gains momentum I tend to do less over-explanation and provide more theory. As it stands the book probably rates as a beginner's tome on making a character in Max.
I apologize in advance if I screen-captured too many sequences of moving or merging vertices. However, keep in mind my main goal with the book is to just show you how I do it...regardless how retarded it may seem. Love it, hate it, use it to validate or refute your current character modeling methods. Over-detailing the process seemed better than under-detailing it. However, writing Modeling A Character In Max taught me a great deal and better prepares me for my next book (when I write it If youre an experienced modeler think twice about buying it and if you do buy it, use it for what its intended for at your level: show you how another modeler does it.
Regardless, I appreciate all the support from you reprobates and I look forward to hearing what you think about my book!
