[eccp] service

Ik heb een aantal win95/98 bakken (celeron 300/766) met novel netware tot mijn beschikken. Op een aantal bakken had ik al de als service draaien maar wil ze omzetten naar eccp.
Ik heb de eccp service versie (eccp109sv-126.zip) gedownload, ge-unzipt, de eccp109sv.exe en eccp109sv.ini gecopieerd naar een test bak. De eccp109sv.ini aangepast. De readme gelezen.

eccp109sv.exe -9

gedaan = install as a service on WIn9x volgens de readme. Maar dat deed het niet (wel starte hij de client op in een aparte dos box maar das niet de bedoeling). Volgens eccp109sv.exe -h moet het anders zijn:

ECCP109 95/98/NT/Win2000 Service commands:
-h : this help screen
-i : install client as service on Win95/98/NT
-r : run as normal client in foreground
-u : uninstall client from service on Win95/98/NT
-v : display version info and install status

Dus ik doe eccp109sv.exe -i en ja hij doet het, teminste hij zegt dat hij hem instaleerd als service.
Ik restart pc. Tijdens het booten krijg ik aleen wel een schrempje te zien met de titel eccp109sv.exe maar dat verdwijnt ook al weer heel snel gevolgd door het McAfee schermpje en het novel netware schermpje. Dan inloggen, en kijken of hij draait. Ik start wintop %#$@&$## 97% idle en geen eccp109sv.exe in de lijst

Ik had geen tijd meer om in de log te kijken wat er aan de hand is want de pc zaal moest dicht. Maar heeft iemand misschien een idee wat ik vout doe? of is er iemand anders met ervaring met deze versie te instaleren op win95/98 ?bakken?

en anders zijn er volgens mij wel utils om proggies als service te draaien..

Here is what I do that is the next-best thing in 9x.

Edit the eccp109.ini to NO_TRAY_ICON=1
Create a shortcut in the ECCp folder to the eccp109ws.exe file.
Select the shortcut properties.
Select Window> minimized.
Copy the shortcut to the Start Menu> Programs> Start up folder.
You can rename this shortcut to anything that you want, like Net Start.

The client will start at login and be totally invisible to the user.

Disadvantages compared to Dnet's service install;

ctrl+alt+delete will show the eccp109 program is running.
The client does not start unless a user is logged in.

Hope this can help. I use this method on the 9x boxes at the school.

Dat is 'a figure of speech'. Zoals ik het lees, zou het het beste zijn als je hem net als de dnet-client als service zou kunnen draaien. Maar omdat dat niet kan (?) is dit daarna de beste oplossing.

Nog een aanvulling op bovenstaand verhaaltje van viz:

Als je de in het properties window van de snelkoppeling het vinkje hidden aanzet, dan zie je hem ook niet in de startup groep staan
Je ziet hem natuurlijk wel, als je echt naar die map toegaat met explorer.
