Problemen met hires op Bluesound

I have been experiencing problems with my Bluesound Node X (Jubilee Edition) for quite some time when playing hi-res files from both Tidal and Qobuz.

The issue only affects 24-bit files. They sometimes stop at exactly the same point in a track, after which the message "Unexpected EOF" appears. What's particularly strange is that the same track may play perfectly the next day. I never experience this problem with 16-bit recordings.

To rule out my network, cabling, or the streaming services as the cause, I carried out extensive testing. Based on these tests, I have come to the conclusion that the issue is most likely related to the Node X itself or the BluOS software.

My findings are as follows:

• I installed a new network switch.
• The Node X is connected via wired Ethernet.
• The latest BluOS firmware is installed.
• With multiple 24-bit albums and tracks, playback always stops at the same point, followed by the message "Unexpected EOF".
• The exact same tracks play flawlessly from start to finish in the Qobuz app on my PC.
• The same hi-res files also play perfectly on another Qobuz user's Naim streamer.
• When I reduce the playback quality in BluOS to 16-bit (CD quality), the problem disappears completely.
• I experienced exactly the same issue previously with Tidal, which suggests that the problem is not specific to one streaming service.
• In addition, the BluOS app occasionally displays the message "Connection failed: reconnecting in 30 seconds", even though the Node X is connected via wired Ethernet.

Based on all these tests, it appears that the problem is not caused by my network or by the streaming services, but rather by the Node X itself or the way BluOS handles certain hi-res streams. My suspicion is that BluOS crashes or fails whenever an audio file contains a minor irregularity, whereas other streamers continue playing those same files without any issues.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, or does anyone have a solution?
