Parrot Minikit Neo Nederlandse firmware

Na 10 jaar is mijn Parrot Minikit Neo carkit (uitvoering: Parrot Minikit Neo) er laatst helaas mee opgehouden. De speaker was kapot (en niet te repareren).

Dus: op marktplaats een nieuwe gekocht, "ongebruikt". Nou dat ongebruikt geloof ik direct: de Engelse firmware staat er op. Je zou zeggen wat maakt het uit maar het hele idee van dit ding is dat je de naam uitspreekt wie je wil bellen. En laat dát nou voor geen meter werken met de taal op Engels.

Helaas lijkt de markt voor losse carkits echt compleet niet meer te bestaan en mijn auto uit 2003 wil ik ook niet meer aan doen dan voor €15 een Parrot kopen. (Plus die Parrot werkte echt perfect)

Ik weet dat kans erg klein is maar heeft iemand toevallig nog de firmware? Het bestand zou "minikit_neo_update_nlnl.plf" moeten heten. Helaas wil/kan parrot mij niet verder helpen.

YES!

Na een halve dag zoeken (met hulp van zowel Claude als ChatGPT) een rabbithole in gegaan om de "language file" uit de v2 firmware te trekken en in de v1 firmware te stoppen. Claude had gevonden dat dit moet kunnen.

Nou goed die is een uur bezig geweest en zelfs Ghidra kwam er aan te pas om de CRC methode uit te vogelen ("invalid firmware" zei ie). Maar toen opeens!

Jahoor via deze directe URL is hij blijkbaar ooit gecached door de wayback machine! Zelf kwam ik hier niet op uit door via WBM te browsen. Nou helemaal super natuurlijk. De grap is dat Claude opzoek was naar een andere taal (er is een poolse te vinden maar achter een betaalde download) om de CRC te checken. Toen ging hij opzoek en vond hij hem dus.

Echt super nu is dat ding weer bruikbaar!
