Family Safety problemen

Ik blijf problemen ondervinden met het programma Family Safety van Microsoft.

Even korte achtergrond: heb dit geïnstalleerd op de laptop van mijn dochter toen ze naar het VO ging. Idee was beetje toezicht houden op de online wereld.
Alleen vanaf het begin vond ik het een ‘niet fijn’ iets. De normale limieten zorgden er ook voor dat ze niet op de sites kon die ze voor school soms nodig had. Heb toen alle leeftijden zo ver het lukte omhoog gegooid, zodat alles zou moeten werken. Het bleef problemen gooien, ik heb haar toen verwijderd uit mijn gezinsgroep.

En nu komt het probleem: ze kan nog steeds niet overal op, zelfs een simpele site als StudyGo (waarmee ze woordjes leert) valt blijkbaar onder de limiet. De melding die ze krijgt is dat er toestemming moet worden gevraagd aan een volwassene, maar de toestemming komt dan bij niemand binnen (bij mij niet in ieder geval, omdat ze verwijderd is uit mijn gezinsgroep). Nu geeft de toestemmingsvraag zelfs een error..

Hoe lossen we dit nu op? De ICT afdeling van school geeft aan dat ze mogelijk nu haar eigen gezin is en dus in haar eigen account de dingen zou moeten uitvinden. Als ik echter op haar naam inlog in de Family Safety app op haar telefoon staat er helemaal geen gezinsgroep.. dus hoe moet ze dan iets uitzetten?

Kortom ik loop helemaal vast. Is een verse installatie (wat de ICT afdeling van haar school dan zou moeten doen) het enige wat overblijft? Of zie ik iets over het hoofd? Weet één ding wel, ik ga niet weer middels apps toezicht proberen te houden 😉

Manage Online: Click on Manage family settings online to open the Family Safety dashboard in your browser. Here, you can adjust settings for each family member, including disabling screen time limits and content restrictions.

4. Disable Parental Controls Service (Advanced):
Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter. Locate Parental Controls, double-click it, and if the service is running, click Stop. Set the Startup type to Disabled and click Apply.
