Hi everyone,

I am looking for advice or experiences regarding "Zoning" with a DeWarmte PompAO setup to avoid short-cycling ("pendelen").

My Setup:

Hardware: DeWarmte PompAO (Heating) + PompT (Hot Water/PCM Battery).

House: Bungalow (Label C), 100% Floor Heating (No radiators).

Controls:

Living Room (Main Zone): Tado Smart Thermostat.

Bathroom & Guest Room (Sub Zones): Manual Honeywell round dials (On/Off).

Buffer: No parallel buffer tank for heating (Direct flow), only the PompT for tap water.

The Challenge: On grey winter days, the system runs perfectly (long, steady runs). However, on sunny days, the Living Room reaches target temp quickly due to solar gain, causing Tado to close the main valves.

My concern is the "Hydraulic Imbalance": If the Living Room is closed, but the Bathroom zone or work room zone with much smaller loop) calls for heat, the PompAO might try to push its minimum output (~1.5kW?) into that tiny loop, causing immediate short-cycling/pendelen.

My Current Strategy (The "Master/Follower" approach): To protect the heat pump, I am planning to treat the Living Room as the "Master" and the Bathroom as a "Follower":

Living Room: The only zone allowed to trigger the Heat Pump.

Bathroom: Thermostat set permanently lower or equal to the Living Room. It only heats up when the Living Room is also heating ("lift mee").

Comfort Gap: If the bathroom is too cold on a sunny day (while Living Room is warm), I accept it or use an electric boost/airco rather than forcing the Heat Pump to start for just one room.

My Questions for other DeWarmte/Heat Pump users:

Has anyone successfully used full multi-zone control (Tado in every room) with the PompAO without a buffer tank? Or does the minimum power output indeed cause issues?

Does the PompAO have any specific logic to handle "low flow" situations, or will it just error out/short cycle immediately?

Is my assumption correct that the PompT does not act as a volume buffer for the central heating loop, meaning I really rely on the concrete floor volume for stability?

Thanks in advance for sharing your insights!
