Suggestion/Help in building a PC

Hi everyone,

I’m putting together a PC with a budget around 1500 euros, focused on 4K video editing in Premiere Pro, color grading in DaVinci Resolve, and 1440p gaming. I’ve picked out some components, but I’d love feedback on potential improvements or better alternatives, especially regarding power supply recommendations.

Current Component List:
• Processor: Intel i5-14600K
• Motherboard: MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 4060 Ti 16GB
• RAM: Corsair 32GB DDR5-7200
• Storage: Crucial P3 Plus M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD
• Case: NZXT H7 Flow (2023)

Could anyone suggest if these choices are balanced or recommend any tweaks? Also, I’d appreciate suggestions for a power supply. Thanks!

For video editing i would choose an ssd with cache.

Non-modular ATX3.1 psu (modular would be nice, ran out of budget). 650W is also enough, but won't save anything. You can save on the case.

Thank you. How about using i7 13600k instead of core ultra 5 245k? I heard gaming performance of 245k is not good

For gaming AMD is better value dan Intel. For Adobe/Da Vince i would stay with Intel. In general 14600K is faster than 13600k. 245k is faster than 14600K. Performance may vary by game. Comparison: https://tweakers.net/pric.../2119254;1993220;1866986/

The 14600K and the 13600K are identical CPU's, except that the 14600K is clocked just slightly higher, but the 13000K-series are already clocked uncomfortably high. Power consumption and heat production are serious downsides of the 14-series.

The 200-series perform better in that regard, but gaming performance is sub-par and they are priced just too high for what you get. Overall, AMD has less downsides and more value for the money. Only downside of AMD is the fairly high idle power consumption, but that's a less serious issue than the above issues with Intel.

Thank you for your response. But what do you think about AMDs performance with Adobe and Da Vinci? Is it worth to get AMD ? If Yes, which processor ? My budget for processor is around €350. I get i7 13700k for the same price. What are your thoughts on it?

Ryzen 7 7700X is faster than the 14600K in Premiere. The Ryzen 5 9600X is also a good option.

The 7700X has more cores and overall more power, but is slower in single threaded tasks.

Pair it with a decent B650E board and you'll have a more stable platform than any 13th/14th gen option.

DaVinci on Puget (same link): AMD 9700X is slightly faster than 245k

Intel 13700K is also reported as a potential risk for stability issues. De 245K and 9700X are better options.
