ping omhoog tijdens surfen

Ik heb een linux machine (redhat) om mijn internet te delen.
Als ik op die machine een ping start naar www.xs4all.nl heb ik een reply tijd van binnen de 30 ms.

Laatik deze ping lopen en ik ga op een client surfen waarik die linukmachine als router voor gebruik dan gaat me ping die ik nogopen heb staan omhoog naar ruim 300ms maar gaat weer terug naar de 30ms als ik stop downloaden,etc.

Is dit normaal of zijn de specs van die linux bak niet genoeg (p133, 46mb ram, internal network 100mb, 10mb kaart naar adsl modem)..

Lijkt me logisch toch?

Als jij surft gaat er meer data door je lijntje en ben je dus moeilijker bereikenm dus ping omhoog.
