I recently bought parts to build my own PC, eventually I managed to get it running. I'm now experiencing a very annoying issue however. for some reason my SSD doesn't get detected every time I boot up my PC. most of the times it does work again after 3-5 power cycles but surely that's not how it's supposed to be. it's supposed to work on boot instantly. I myself thought it probably had to do with drivers or something software related but when I checked, those were all up to date so now i'm thinking it's maybe in the connection between my motherboard and the SSD but those are supposed to just work together. I have the Gigabyte B760M motherboard an a 1 TB WD Blue SN570 M.2 2280 PCIe gen3. Would anyone know a solution, it would really smooth up my user experience...

You would have to deduct the possible reasons for your issues.
When you say not detected: Can you not see the M2 drive in the UEFI menu? Or will it just not boot?
You may have to get another M2 SSD to verify if you have the same issues. if so, it is the motherboard, if not, you probably have a faulty SSD.
Try a BIOS update on your motherboard as well to verify if that resolves the issue.
Assuming you did try to remount the SSD completely already?
But first be clear on the detection:
Does it not boot your OS?
OR does it not show up in the UEFI menu?

it will boot the OS but only after the mentioned few power cycles, while doing those power cycles it doesn't show up in bios and because of that doesn't boot OS so it's almost like it just isn't connecting. and yes, I tried remounting the SSD into both slots multiple times but it doesn't directly change/affect anything

Then try my other suggestions:
BIOS update
Other SSD to validate whether mainboard or SSD is faulty, as that seems to be likely in that case.

thank you very much for your help, i'll try it and see if it works. You'll see me again somewhere if there are still issues, have a very nice day
