I am in the process of making a new build, but I am not sure which motherboard to buy.
I was dead set on getting Asus rog strix z790-e at first, but when I compared it to Gigabyte Aorus master z790, I am torn between them. They are very similarly priced but for some reason I think the gigabyte one is better in many ways and has more quality. What do you guys think?, Please help me make a decision.

@martyw I found it for 440 euro, I want to build a high end rig that will last a long time, I am going to use i9-13900k with it and be ready for rtx 5000 series, until then I will use my old rtx 3070. Sorry for the english but I don't speak dutch yet I live here for 4 years, since it is my first forum post never thought it would be a problem.

@CH4OS I know it is not but in general I am paying let's say around 150-180 euro premium over a board that would make sense so its not a huge loss.

I just want to know which of these two would be better overall. I plan to do a bit of price hunting to make it more sensible to buy. But i am very unsure of which one of these to go for.

In general you would want the cheapest board that matches your specifications. There is no need to buy an extra expensive motherboard, it's not going to run any better.

A few weeks ago i upgraded my own system, had no other choice to spend 325 euro on the motherboard since i wanted AM5, Bluetooth, and the possibility to add a PCI-E 5.0 graphics card in the future. I also didn't want hardware from Asrock as i consider it a B-brand. With those specs the cheapest motherboard was 325 euro.

Asus and Gigabyte are bood good brands. If there are no clear differences between specifications I always would buy the cheapest.

Maybe the Gigabyte AERO G might also be an option. 200 euro cheaper with similar specs. Unless you really need that 10G port, but doubt that.

Benefit is that this has a USB-C video port.

Then use the 200 for a better power supply/ more memory / better graphic card / sound card.

Personally I wont see any benefit in the motherboards you listed. Twice as expensive as a regular with barely any additional functionality that you will use.

Used to be the same to buy a higher range setup, to figure out 6 years later that I didn’t use any of it ;-)
