Dit zijn mogelijke oplossingen voor de huige cm versie, maar de game is al 3 jaar vrijwel het zelfde gebleven, dus probeer maar wat uit:
Most desktop crashes are due to PC hardware/software problems ... possibly one of these:
(1) Bad Hard Disk Sectors
(2) Corrupt Data files (either from downloaded updates or edited using 3rd party editors available on the net).
(3) Lack of Hard Disk space (cm3 requires a minimum of 75MB of free disk space on both the Windows and cm3 partitions to operate ... the game checks diskspace frequently but windows is a multi-tasking O/S and can let other app's steal available diskspace).
(4) Lack of memory. CM3 requires a minimum of 16MB for 1 league (16MB machines CANNOT run more than one league reliably ... this is noted on the games box).
(5) Windows virtual memory limited by user
If you have set a low virtual memory limit for Windows then this can cause problems with the game when the O/S finds it needs more memory than you are allowing it to take. I would always recommend that you allow windows to manage its own virtual memory.
(6) Virus Checker Enabled. Certain Virus checkers can slow cm99/00 to a crawl, so slow in fact that it resembles a crash (eg. 20 minutes to continue the game past a day). Please disable your Virus Checker if you think this may be a problem (known checkers with this problem include Sophos and Norton).
(7) Incompatible Hardware.
Common incompatible hardware includes:
* Graphics card not supported properly by DirectX
* High End AMD processors with Non 100Mhz Memory chips (this is incredibly common).
* High End AMD processors with insufficient cooling (also incredibly common and in some cases won't be apparent unless the machine is running for several hours).
The following cards are known to have problems:
- Matrox Marvel G200-TV
- NVidia GeForce
- NVidia Vanta
- Matrox Mystique (With Win98 SE)
- ATI Rage Fury (requires latest drivers from ATi site)
In the mean time you solve problems on most of these video cards by doing the following (with DirectX 7):
1. Open DXDIAG.EXE (usually in PROGRAM FILES\DIRECTX\SETUP)
2. Under the DISPLAY section you should disable DirectDraw Acceleration and AGP Support under the DirectX features.
Your graphics card driver may not have 2-D DirectX 8 support. If so try the GDI Champ version
