Ik verving deze week mijn Sony UBP-X800 door een Panasonic DP-UB820, voor oa Dolby Vision support.
Alles is zoals ik verwacht, behalve wanneer ik een film test die DV heeft. Mijn receiver geeft aan dat de RGB color space in 8bit color depth binnenkomt. DV is toch 10 of 12bit?
Zie ook in onderstaande foto's dat de tekst op het infoscherm paars is, ipv gebruikelijk blauw. Misschien is dit normaal in DV modus, dat weet ik niet.
Heb ik ergens een instelling verkeerd, of is dit toch allemaal normaal?
Ik vond op internet al gelijkaardige vragen, maar echt een duidelijk antwoord vond ik niet. Enkel dit op reddit, maar dan voor een AppleTV:
The method Dolby Vision (DV) uses to transport the signal over HDMI is referred to as “RGB Tunneling”. The 12-bit ICtCp DV signal + Metadata is encapsulated inside the regular RGB 8-bit video signal. The DV “tunneling” carries 12-bit YCbCr 4:2:2 data in an RGB 4:4:4 8-bit transport. This is possible because both signal formats have the same 8.9 Gbps data rate requirements.
