Oude Tulip vision line start niet

Sorry voor de slechte vertaling, ik ben geen native Dutch.

Hallo.
Ten eerste, laat alsjeblieft geen negatieve opmerkingen achter over oude computers/software.
Mijn vaders oude Tulip Vision Line dt 4/66 startte niet goed op. Hij heeft de batterij naar het back-upgeheugen vervangen volgens de foutcode op het scherm, maar nu leest hij niet de schijf/software met al zijn bedrijfsgegevens. Wat doen we? Hij heeft geprobeerd hem opnieuw op te starten en toen hij de batterij verwisselde (hij deed dat +10 jaar geleden), vulde hij alle informatie in die door de computer werd gevraagd.

Help help! We weten niet wat we moeten doen en al mijn vaders bedrijfsgegevens staan ​​daarin.

My dads old Tulip Vision Line dt 4/66 wouldn't start up properly. He changed the battery to the backup memory according to the error-code on screen, but now it won't read the drive/software with all his company data. What do we do? You probably have to set some BIOS settings for the harddrive. You can start with checking the BIOS if any settings are available. Do you have any idea wich kind of harddrive is in the pc?

Without making fun of the age of the computer, you can contact the computer museum. They have exact the model you have, so they can help you with the right settings and more…

ik denk dat die nu de bios gereset is door de lege batterij dat die niet meer weet wat voor schijf er aanwezig is..

uit mijn hoofd kan je in de bios kiezen uit diverse "TYPE" echter zal je wel de C/H/S waardes van de schijf moeten weten...

automatische detectie kenden we toen nog niet..

Open it up and post some pictures of the hard drives' label. There are probably some settings listed on it, the CHS parameters @SMSfreakie was talking about

I'm sure the hard drive is not encrypted so all you need to do is hook up the HDD to a USB compatible cradle and copy whatever you want to preserve.

Once the data is copied you can further investigate on interpreting the data for business needs.

Little advice: The harddisk is about 35 years old and close to end of life.
It could just be that it has already died. In that case, get your backups. No backups?
I´d suggest to go to an experienced and reliable data-rescue company.
Expensive? Probably. It all depends on how much your data is worth to you.

Dat levert niet noodzakelijkerwijs dezelfde settings op als de aanbevolen settings van de fabrikant. Niks mis mee, hij doet het toch wel. maar als je de schijf overzet naar een ander systeem, of een bios upgrade hebt gehad, kan het wel even puzzelen zijn om de schijf weer leesbaar te krijgen. Dan is het toch wel prettig als de aanbevolen setting gebruikt waren.

Ook bij Harddisk Type (uit m'n hoofd even) 48 / 49? Bij veel 486's (zelfs bij een 386) die ik had stond er bij die 2 types de optie om 'detect settings' (of een gelijke term afhankelijk van het type BIOS, AMI, Award of Phoenix) en zocht die de settings vanzelf op (kon soms een probleem geven als de master/slave setting niet correct stond, maar over het algemeen werkte dat wel).

Heb zelf de Tulip 486 niet, maar m'n broer heeft wel de opvolger ervan (een met een Pentium 120), en ook daar kon je 'detect harddrive' op die manier doen.

@Mijzelf Nooit zo opgelet eigenlijk. De 'detect harddrive' functie werkte hier althans wel naar behoren, ook geen problemen gehad met schijven overzetten tussen systemen.

Het was overigens wel 'detect harddrive' bij Type 48 / 49 (uit m'n hoofd even), niet de auto-detect wat je later zag op systemen dat die dat tijdens de POST deed (om verwarring te voorkomen).

Either you can make an appointment (just send us an e-mail) or drop by from Monday till Saturday between 10:00 and 18:00 .. you can wait for it or you can walk around in the museum (and see the largest collection of Tulip computers in the world).

ik ga er in mee dat ze geen auto detect hebben :-)

sowieso kon dat ding van ons geen schijven groter dan 512MB aan. destijds geleverd met een 80MB....

en sommige games (epic pinball geloof ik oa) waren zo royaal dat ze wel op 2 (of 3..) 1.44MB disks pasten gearchived met ARJ (wie kent het nog? :-) :-) ) maar op de HDD was het rond de 50MB!..

double space / drive space was toen mij grote vriend..

Don't forget to backup everything once or twice, since there is important data on it. Use more modern media than a floppy or diskette.
