MSI Mystic Lights met non-admin account

Mijn vraag
Hoe kan ik met een on-admin account MSI Mystic Lights installeren en/of gebruiken?

Relevante software en hardware die ik gebruik

• MSI Center 1.0.38.0
• MSI Dragon Center 2.0.123.0
• MSI Mystic Lights

Wat ik al gevonden of geprobeerd heb

• MSI Center installeren en deinstalleren (ook met MSi uninstall tool)
• Dragon Center installeren en deinstalleren (ook met MSi uninstall tool)
• non-admin account tijdelijk admin rechten geven
• de non-admin account toevoegen aan alle folders onder program fiiles (x86) \ MSI \ MSI Center
• Windows Event Viewer bekeken
• Als non-armin MSI center en MSI dragon center installeren met runas admin
• ...

Ik heb een admin account een non-admin account op mijn windows pc.
In mijn dagdagelijkse werk gebruik ik enkel de non-admin account; de admin account is er enkel voor als het echt echt niet anders kan.
Met mijn admin account werken MSI Dragon Center, MSI Center en MSI Mystic Lights perfect; ik kan MSI Mystic Lights in beide applicaties downloaden en installeren.
Maar zodra ik met mijn admin account aflog verandert alles onmiddelijk in een carrousel van kleuren ipv de settings die ik wil.
Ik slaag er absoluut niet in om MSI Mystic Lights te installeren in MSI Dragon Center of MSI Center laat staan te openen met mijn non-admin account.

Ergens lijkt het me dus een permissie dingetje dus ik zou denken dat als ik de settings uit mijn admin account kan kopieren (maar ik weet dus niet waar die worden opgeslagen) of bepaalde apps of services (maar ik weet niet welke) tijdelijk admin permissies kan geven dat ik toch al een stap verder zou moeten geraken.

Waarom niet gewoon aangelogged als normale user en dat Mystic gebeuren vervolgens installeren als administrator? Er bestaat een kans dat je het - eens geïnstalleerd - kunt draaien als normale user. Als dat niet kan moet je telkens als je het programma wilt opstarten, de admin credentials opgeven. Lijkt me een betere oplossing dan je normale user account stiekem toch wat admin privileges geven

Als het inderdaad alleen kan draaien met adminrechten, is dat niet echt van deze tijd Omweg: start het via runas, of als scheduled task onder de admin-account.

Het lijkt me een goed plan om die rechten weer te corrigeren. Als je het wel wilt regelen via uitdelen van extra rechten: met bijv. https://docs.microsoft.co...ternals/downloads/procmon kan je beetje bij beetje kijken wat de software waar probeert te doen. Maar ik zou het aanpassen van rechten van files en registersleutels etc afraden, de beveiliging is er niet voor niets. Dan liever nog UAC op max zetten en er een adminaccount van maken die je verder nergens voor gebruikt anders dan accorderen van de lichten.

@Brahiewahiewa , @F_J_K : bedankt voor de input, maar met runas admin lukt het dus niet.
Als ik runas admin doe bij MSI center of mail dragon center kan ik mystic lights niet installeren. Als ik inlog met de admin account kan ik het wel installeren.
Als ik inlog als admin en het installeer en daarna inlog als non-armin en mystic lights probeer te openen in MSI center of mail dragon center gebeurt er niks, ook als ik MSI center of MSI dragon center runas admin open.

Of dat als scheduled task als admin te starten, alleen als de user is ingelogd. Edit: maar dus installeren als ingelogd onder expliciet de adminaccount. Daar moet ‘ie namelijk blijkbaar draaien.

Maar da's dus wat ik doe: ik login met mijn admin account, ik installeer MSI Center en Mythic Lights: alles werkt perfect. Ik log af, probeer MSI Center te runnen met runas admin: dat werkt ook. Ik probeer vanuit MSI Center Mystic Lights te starten: er gebeurt niks.

ik heb al alle exe's in de Mystic Lights folder afgelopen, maar de Mystic Lights app (die dus wel start als ik MSI Center of MSI Dragon Center met mijn admin account open) start nooit op

Thanks for contacting MSI technical support.

Regarding your concern, it is not recommended to run MSI Center in non-admin account since it needs several windows functions which require admin privilege. Running as administrator mode will not grant MSI Center the full access to those function.

Da's een kwalitatief uitermate teleurstellend antwoord.
Zo moeilijk is het niet om een modelletje in elkaar te schroeven met een service die admin privileges heeft en een client proces met user rechten waar je dan toch zinnige dingen mee kunt doen. Zo kun je bijvoorbeeld als normale user een virus scan uitvoeren of een system backup maken. Moet MSI ook kunnen maar daar hebben ze kennelijk geen zin in?
