Hello

Sorry to write in English but my Dutch is not good enough

I would like to ask advise from experts about painting doors and door and window frames

I would like to repaint my door and window frames. Do I have to schuur first?

Is there any type of paint that I can use that don't need to schuur previously and it will attached to the old paint properly?

I attached some photos of the current frames

Any advise is very welcome. Thank you in advance

Yes, you will have to sand (schuren) if you want the new paint to last. Depending on the quality of the current paint, start with rough sandpaper and then go with a finer grain.

You may want to apply a ground/base layer after sanding (which you’ll have to sand too) before applying the final layers of lacquer.

Start with a 80/100 and 'finish' by slightly going over everything with a 180/240.

You can try using a heatgun to remove some of the paint, if you don't have a sander. Because this is not a funny job, if you are planning to do it by hand..

Also make sure to remove grease from the woodwork as well, especially parts that are frequently touched. St. Marc is a commonly recommended brand, available at construction markets.Best to remove grease before sanding, else you're actually sanding the grease into the wood.

I'm not an expert, but my recommendation would be:
1) remove grease (St. Marc)
2) sand
3) remove dust
4) St. Marc again
5) apply primer
6) apply 1 or 2 layers of finishing

As it is indoors and you dont want to sand too much, just start with removing grease with cleaning agent (st markt, but allesreiniger will also do the job). Then sand 120 lightly and remove dust. Then you can start painting.

All the other steps like primer is not needed unless you want pristine results.
