460 werkt niet met de 11xxx generatie heb ik toevallig net in een ander topic begrepen. Zal even de link opzoeken.
Despite using the same CPU socket, Intel has decided to make 11th generation CPUs incompatible with H410 and B460 motherboards (though 11th generation CPUs can work in H470 and Z490 motherboards, and B560 and Z590 motherboards are backwards-compatible with 10th generation CPUs).
The exceptions to this are a handful motherboards which are marketed as B460, but actually have H470 chipsets. Examples of these motherboards include Gigabyte’s B460 “V2” motherboards. These motherboards will work with the i5 11400F, but are limited to a maximum memory speed of 2933MHz.
If you have a B460, just use a 10th gen CPU. They’re much cheaper and not significantly slower than 11th gen (especially when they’re bottlenecked by slow memory anyway).
If you want a motherboard for an i5 11400F, choose an H510 (if you only need basic functionality), B560 (if you want better connectivity and upgrade options or if you want to run RAM faster than 3200MHz) or Z490/Z590 (if you want to upgrade to an unlocked CPU and overclock it in the future).
