Mijn vraag
Hi,
I've got problems connecting/forwarding my internet connection from my router via the NETGEAR switch throughout the house via UTP wall mounting brackets.
My set-up is as follows:
From my ISP modem/router a cable runs to the NETGEAR switch, from that switch a longer cable runs through the house to a room upstairs for example, that specific cable ends in a wall mounting bracket where it's connected, from that wall mounting bracket a UTP connector is plugged into the wall mount and runs to the destination device (for example a desktop computer).
Cables are connected the T568B-way on both ends (everywhere, on any cable).
When I do NOT use the switch and I plug in the long UTP cable directly into my router (rest of the set-up the same), it works fine and the desktop PC upstairs will have internet connection. So this suggests there's nothing wrong with the cable connections.
As soon as I am connecting the switch in between the problem pops-up.
Furthermore, when I connect the switch to the modem and a cable from the switch directly to a laptop downstairs (not via the wall mount, but a direct UTP cable), the switch DOES work properly. So this might also suggest there's nothing wrong with the switch...
Could you please help me out on this subject? How will I be able to resolve this issue? I want to connect multiple UTP cables like this from the switch throughout the house to wall mounts.
Would another switch after the wall mount resolve the issue?
Thanks in advance!
Jorn
