First of all, I am sorry that I do not speak dutch. I live in Netherlands, and I am studying the language, but it is not good enough to make this post properly. Hope you guys don't throw forks at me for this :)

Wat wil je doen met je nieuwe systeem?

It's all about gaming, will maybe do some streaming.

Wat mag het systeem gaan kosten?

The entire system should cost 1500 or less. The only reason I would go higher, is if it is really essential

Zijn er componenten of randapparatuur die je al hebt en mee wil nemen naar je nieuwe systeem?

Yes! I already bought a Inno3D GeForce RTX 3070 Twin X2 OC today, and I have a 1440p 144hz monitor on its way as well.

Wat denk je allemaal nodig te hebben?

Well I still need everything apart from GPU. I am not sure what would fit best and how things would also fit inside the case.

Heb je nog bepaalde (merk)voorkeuren?

I don't know enough to have a preference.

Heb je nog bepaalde eisen/wensen?

I would prefer to keep the case simple, don't need anything that looks cool, or not. As long as it does everything that it needs to do, and does not cost too much, I do not care if it has RGB, glass windows or a door.

Ga je overklokken?

I would rather not because I have no idea how OC works, but my GPU is already OC, so I am not sure if I already crossed that line or not. But I would rather keep it as simple as I can.

Wat verwacht je van ons?[i]

Well first of all, the gpu that i bought is shaped weird, so I have no idea how it would fit and with what. I would need advice on the case that I would have to buy that would fit all of my components. I have no idea what CPU I should be getting with this build. I want to do 1440p gaming with high fps. Basically I would appreciate help with building the PC around the GPU that I already bought ( Inno3D GeForce RTX 3070 Twin X2 OC). Thank you!

If you do not want oc, you can get the 10400f instead, and maybe some slower memory with lower cas.

I've seen ryzen cpu in builds quite a bit, especially ryzen 7 3700x. Is it a matter of preference between them, or is the intel one better?

well, ryzen used to be great value for money, but since july they increased in price by amost 66%, that's massive. So now the intel became the better value for money.

On overall:
ryzen is better in multitasking (such as having many programms open)
intel is better in single tasks (such as gaming)

By the way, thank you so much for your help, one thing though. I have looked around, and with my GPU it says that the min power supply should be 650W, yet you recommended a 550W one. Does it not matter then?

The problem with 550 W PSU's is that if a powersurge happens (which often happens with these GPU's), a lot of PSU's have difficulties with power management. If you buy a higher quality PSU (such as BQ SP 11) they can still manage the power.

If you buy a lower end PSU, a sollution is to have a 650W PSU, since the powersurge is a lower % of the power limit.

If you feel like you need it, take the 650 W PSU, however the 3070 seems to be working fine on a 550W sp11.

The GPU takes up to about 250W , the CPU+system 150 W, makes total of about 400 W -> take a reserve for power surges and 550W is fine.
