UM85C418 Windows 3.1 Video Driver Installation Instructions
This driver disk is designed to allow you to change the video driver
for Windows external to the program itself.
Two methods are supported to install the drivers to your hard disk.
One is more simple by using the install utility from our supplied
windows driver disk. You can start from standard VGA by using normal
windows setup program and then enter windows system. Under windows,
run the utility file "install.exe" and it will copy all necessary
files into appropriate directory. Do the install by pressing the
"EXECUTE" menu item and start the procedure. When the installation
has been completed, you can run the created icon and select any video
mode you want afterwards. The usetup icon does with all the video mode
setting including RESOLUTION,COLOR,FONT SIZE,VERTICAL FREQUENCY,
MONITOR TYPE(INTERLACE/NONINTERLACE). For 800x600 256 colors mode
if the display memory size on board is 512Kb, then the usetup program
can select different drivers from that of 1Mb automatically.
The other is the standard windows setup. Simply copying the files into your
\Windows\System subdirectory WILL NOT work and may corrupt your
Windows installation. Installing the drivers correctly is, however, a
simple process. It is accomplished by following these instructions:
