Freenas crash tijdens schrijven

Hi ik heb een freenas server, waar ik sinds kort een externe diskshelf heb toegevoegd met een apparte HBA,
Specs zijn als volgt
CPU 2x 6c Xeon
RAM 32GB ECC
Mainboard HP DL180 G6
ETH 2x 1GB onboard
ETH Mellanox conectx3 40GBe
HP p812 (raid 1 boot schijf 72gb ) (23x 600GB SAS via backplane pool 1)
Oracle LSI HBA(extern verbonden met netapp 24x 600GB SAS pool 2 )


Pool 1 heeft altijd goed gewerkt dus hier zit geen problemen,
Pool 2 bestaat sinds kort, en geeft een kernel panic wanneer ik er iets naar toe wil schrijven
Met een monitor zag ik veel data snel verschijnen heb net een foto kunnen maken voor de reboot

Freenas

Nu vraag ik me af , hoe komt dit, is me Oracle HBA defect? Mischien de Netapp diskshelf?
Sas kabel.
Of heeft het iets te maken met swap op externe shelf?

Ben niet slim, maar wel dom

Ik heb geen kabel naar disk 8, zit alleen een kabel tussen hba en de netapp,
Ik denk dat hij die error aangaf voor me gehele array.
Ga strax testen op andere poort, andere server enzevoort.
Maar freenas mag dan nog niet crashen, dit heeft denk ik te maken met swap, geen id hoe ik dat uit zet

Swapoff :D

Normaal word swap niet gebruikt, enkel als al je ram in gebruik is. De schijven zijn Hotswappable. De controller niet lijkt me. Als die crasht of fouten geeeft kan je systeem op zijn gat gaan.

Angezien er nog geen data op staat. Maak eens testpool van 2 schijven ofso en schrijf daar eens op. Dan weet je iig dat het niet aan controller ligt, of aan de gebruikte poorten. Doet dit het nog. 2 andere poorten gebruiken. Doet die het nog...ja, zo kan je elimineren.

Au Contraire Mon Capitan!

Zelfs als die hele shelf kuren geeft mag je kernel niet crashen. Ik zou doen wat SadisticPanda beschrijft om een idee te hebben onder welke conditie het precies fout gaat.

Maar ik zou ook even kijken naar een freenas upgrade (kernel upgrade)
Een disk failure (al ruk je 'm uit een lopende computer) mag geen kernel panic geven.

nu met 4 schijven eerst geprobeerd, en op andere poorten getest.
lijkt erop dat me HBA niet goed is zover ik begrijp

Kan nog steeds een combinatie zijn van hardware en driver.
Kun je die Oracle LSI HBA nog van andere (recentere) firmware voorzien? Meest recente LSI compatible firmware?
Ook kernel update kan nog steeds helpen, maar het is even hoeveel risico/moeite je er in wilt stoppen.

Heb een andere server geprobeerd, verse install freenas, deze crasht tijdens boot.
Ik zal morgen proberen de netapp onder windows in raid te testen, op een hp p800 die ik nog heb liggen.
