Plaatsing m2 ssd in x570 gigabyte ultra

Mijn (beginners) vraag

Ik bouw momenteel een pc. Heb hiervoor een x570 gigabyte ultra. Deze heeft 3 m2 slots met (zoals ik het begrepen heb) verschillende snelheden.

Deze slots hebben verschillende groottes. De slot met de juiste maat voor mijn samsung 970 evo plus is volgens mij het langzaamst en gebruikt ook bandbreedte van de sata? Moet ik de ssd in het grootste slot installeren en de heatsink van het kleinere slot gebruiken? Of maakt het allemaal niet uit? Deze slot zit pal onder de videokaart.

Volgens mij kun je de SSD gewoon in M2A of M2B inpluggen. Alleen M2C werkt langzamer en beïnvloedt 2 SATA-poorten. (zie handleiding p. 20 & 21)

The M.2 connectors support M.2 SATA SSDs or M.2 PCIe SSDs and support RAID configuration. Please
note that an M.2 PCIe SSD cannot be used to create a RAID set either with an M.2 SATA SSD or a SATA
hard drive. Refer to Chapter 3, "Configuring a RAID Set," for instructions on configuring a RAID array.

Follow the steps below to correctly install an M.2 SSD in the M.2 connector.
Step 1:
Get a screw and a standoff from the included M.2 screw and standoff packs. Locate the M.2 connector
where you will install the M.2 SSD, use a screwdriver to unfasten the screw on the heatsink and then
remove the heatsink.
Step 2:
Locate the proper mounting hole for the M.2 SSD to be installed and then tighten the standoff first. Insert
the M.2 SSD into the M.2 connector at an angle.
Step 3:
Press the M.2 SSD down and then secure it with the screw. Replace the heatsink and secure it to the
original hole.

Installation Notices for the M.2 and SATA Connectors:
The availability of the SATA connectors may be affected by the type of device installed in the M.2 sockets.
The M2C_SOCKET connector shares bandwidth with the SATA3 4/5 connector. Refer to the following
tables for details.


Dus de kleinste is de C socket, maar die benut volgens mij niet de volledige snelheid. Dus ik concludeer hieruit dat je deze in de a of b moet steken. Ik vind het raar dat die heatsink dan veel te groot is.

Wat vind je er precies raar aan dat de heatsink te groot is? Ik zie geen reden om de te grote heatsink niet te kunnen gebruiken.

Maar ik zou inderdaad m2A of m2B gebruiken.

De heatsink schroef je toch samen met de ssd vast met dezelfde schroef? Ik dacht dat je de standoff screw die al op het moederboard zit waar de heatsink op zit los moet schroeven en deze in 1 van de openingen moet schroeven naar gelang de grootte van de ssd.

Probleem opgelost. Ik had over het hoofd gezien dat bij het moederbord standoff schroeven zitten waarmee je de ssd fixeert (los van de heatsink).
