CPU Throttling

Hi,

i have a big problem with my pc.

Everytime when im gaming my cpu starts to throttle every 10 seconds or so.... it drops from 4.0 GHZ to 1.23 GHZ..

i dont know what to do anymore.. i tried replacing ram tried replacing videocard tried clean install of windows cmos reset but nothing seems to help.. ive read somewhere that it could be that my VRM's are overheating or something like that...

I dont have any ideas left please if you can help me..

Motherboard: asrock 960gm-vgs3 FX

CPU: Amd FX 8350 Eight Core

Videocard: MSI GTX 1050TI

1 TB Hard drive

120 GB Hard drive

Vrms on That board are bad And dont support the fx83** cpus.

Get a proper motherboard with Good vrms And your problem should be solved. Also make Sure the vrms have airflow over them.

Veel moederborden voor de fx83** of hoger zijn niet geschikt voor die cpus. Ondanks dat dat wel op de sites van de fabrikanten staan en ze wel werken. De vrms kunnen niet genoeg leveren. Een 4+1 vrm setup is te krap. Er zijn weinig geschikte borden. Een complete upgrade is vaak een betere oplossing.

Well you have a really cheap motherboard with a CPU that requires a lot of energy, this will never work good as even the manufacturer tells you: the CPU is not on the supported CPU list for that board...
I wouldn't sink any more money into such an old PC, unless you can get a really cheap second hand motherboard with enough VRM phases to actually power that CPU properly.

While we're at it, what power supply do you have (not just wattage but model etc.)?

I agree on the bad VRM's. You could try to set Turbo Core to off in the BIOS to see if that is any help.

But a better motherboard is still the way to go (if you don't want to upgrade your whole rig).

Ik zou zelfs geen mobo meer kopen voor die cpu of je moest een heel goede reden hebben om niet naar Ryzen te gaan , zelfs een Ryzen apu loopt rondjes rond de fx cpu's

de win prins klinkt aardig Nederlands. De Nederlandse taal moet dan ook geen probleem zijn.

Had gehoopt dat die gare 8 cores uitgestorven waren inmiddels maar hier hebben we er weer eentje op een veel te licht moederbord. In de kliko Naar de milieustraat met dat ding en iets moderners kopen. Alles wat je hier nog aan uitgeeft is zonde van het geld.
