Overclocking Asus gtx 1080

I want to overclock my Asus GTX 1080 8GB gpu but I can't really find the right amounts because I'm horrible with this type of things.

I wish to achieve higher fps, graphics are not my #1 priority.

What are the best settings in what software?

I've tried messing around in asus gpu tweaker at I thing 1944hz overclock and half and fulll memory overclock (if thats the right way to say it) but it made games crash eventually and I just don't know anything about this

My rig has:
AMD Ryzen 7 2700
Asus RoG Strix B350-I Gaming
Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 OC edition 8GB (11Gbps)
Windows 10 pro 64bit
16 GB ram ddr4 3200hz (not 100% sure about hz)
660 watt
860 evo 250gb ssd

with the new cards you cant really overclock anymore.
just put energie on max and let the card overclock itself
if you really want to overclock then you have to get a costum BIOS or make a little change on the harware itself. otherwise the manual overclock is really limited.

but with a 1080/ what resolution are you playing and what monitor?
why need so much FPS? if yuor screen cant handle the fps.

edit:
use MSI afterburner. that should work for trying to overclock

Overclocking is trial and error, adding 10's of mhz each time untill it crashes
You'll have to test the stability with each added mhz...
