Krijg ACPI patch niet gedaan op kt7_3r

Hoi,

Ik heb in Win2k verschillende performance problemen, die volgens de KT7 faq opgelost kunnen worden door het disabelen van ACPI. Daar zijn twee mogelijkheden voor: in Windows, en doormiddel van patchen van je bios mbv modbin.

Als ik de kt7_3r.bin met modbin onder handen neem, en ik zet de optie ACPI aan, dan lijkt alles goed te gaan. Flashen lukt ook, totdat ik in m'n bios ga kijken: Geen ACPI optie

Wie heeft er voor mij een linkje naar een aangepaste bios? Ik ben het beu, en ga het nu op de makkelijke manier proberen: jullie dus

Je kan beter gewoon de laatste bios flashen en software matig acpi uit zetten.
Als ik het goed heb kan je bij win 2000 onder device manager en dan onder computer acpi uit zetten (weet niet zeker).

Maar het is veel beter om tijdens de installatie van win 2000 in het begin op f7 te rammen op het punt waar je ook op f6 kunt rammen voor je scsi/highpoint drivers. Je krijgt verder geen enkele melding maar acpi staat dan wel uit.

Why does Windows lock up when I use a 1.4GHz Thunderbird?
It has been reported that with processors running at above 1.33MHz it is necessary to set the K7 CLK_CTL to Optimal in the BIOS in order for the system to be stable. An alternative to this is to use BIOS WW or earlier, which does not provide this option. If K7 CLK CTL is set to Default then the machine becomes unstable. Another user wrote to me that the reason for this is that at high speeds the ACPI HLT function does not work correctly and as soon as the processor begins to cool it will lock up. The best solution (since changing K7_CTL to optimal is not completely stable) is to disable ACPI completely under these circumstances. Note that ABIT's beta BIOS 3Rb02 has ACPI disabled to resolve this stability issue.


To prevent Windows 2000 from enabling ACPI when you install it, you can hit F7 at the point in the installation process where it asks you to hit F6 to install SCSI drivers. It is apparently also possible to hit F5 during the installation process and select the Standard HAL which prevents ACPI support - see "How can I specify an alternative HAL during Windows 2000 installation?". Installing Windows 2000 without ACPI support may prevent the machine from switching off automatically when you power down. This problem can be resolved by ensuring that APM is enabled in the BIOS and by adding the NT APM/Legacy Interface Node in Windows 2000 using the add new hardware menu.

ik lees je post nu pas, maar zie mijn bevindingen van afgelopen week...precies hetzelfde probleem, maar het bleek dat windows2000 niet goed werkt met modbin6. Zelfde truukje doen in windows98 en klaar is u!. Ga voor de gein maar es naar de dosprompt voor je modbin6 uitvoert. Dan krijg je bij het wegschrijven van je nieuwe bios een foutmelding te zien die je anders niet krijgt...ik had PRECIES hetzelfde, maar zag de foutmelding eerst niet. en toen heb ook ik mijn bios geflasht met....precies hetzelfde bios dat er al opstond
