[Ubuntu + Ansible/Vagrant/Virtualbox] Vagrant up werkt niet

Mijn vraag
Wanneer ik Ansible, Vagrant en virtualbox heb geinstalleerd op een ubuntu machine, krijg ik een foutmelding na t command 'vagrant up'. Iemand een idee waardoor dit komt en hoe dit verholpen kan worden?

Relevante software en hardware die ik gebruik
Ik draai de ubuntu ook virtueel vanaf mijn windows laptop. Ik heb dit geprobeerd met VMware Workstation 12 en Virtualbox 15.2.12.

Als virtuele machine heb ik verschillende Ubuntu versies gebruikt:
16.04 32bits
16.04 64bits
18.04 64bits

Alle versies van Ansible, Vagrant en Virtualbox op de ubuntu waren ook up to date

Wat ik al gevonden of geprobeerd heb

Zoals je hierboven ziet heb ik meerder dingen al geprobeerd.
Daarnaast heb ik ook al gelezen dat je in workstation pro en virtualbox ook een checkbox moet aanzetten 'Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI'. Dit heb ik ook in alle gevallen gedaan.

de 'playbook machine' wordt wel aangemaakt in virtualbox. maar je kunt er helemaal niks mee.

Mogelijk dat het te lang duurt voordat je VM is opgestart en houdt Vagrant ermee op voordat de VM is gestart.
Je zou die VM in virtualbox management tool moeten zien. Daar moet je dan kijken of hij gestart is/kan worden. Lukt dat, dan moet je de timeout verhogen.

Anders werken mogelijk de netwerk instellingen van je VM niet (goed).

Mogelijke oorzaken:
-Je VM krijgt geen IP en dus kan Vagrant er geen verbinding mee maken
-Je draait lokaal een firewall die verbindingen naar die machine blokkeert
-Je VM heeft een ander IP dan waar Vagrant naartoe verbindt

Als je meerdere tools gebruikt, is het een heel goed idee om stap voor stap te gaan troubleshooten. Dus, omdat je VirtualBox via Vagrant aanstuurt, die je weer via Ansible gebruikt, is het stappenplan kinderlijk eenvoudig:
- Zorg eerst dat VirtualBox werkt:

• Is de service beschikbaar?
• Is de betreffende gebruiker lid van de juiste groep om VirtualBox VMs te draaien?
• Kan je zelf een VM aanmaken en starten?

- Daarna test je Vagrant:

• Kan je VMs aanmaken?
• Kan je via Vagrant de instellingen van de VM aanpassen?
• Kan je vervolgens de VM starten?
• Doet Vagrant de installatie of verwacht het een pre-installed image?

Pas als bovenstaande werkt, ga je met Ansible aan de slag. Als dat laatste niet werkt, maar de eerste stappen wel, post dan je playbook.

Meestal duiden dit soort dingen op incompatability issues van de programma's onderling. Gebruik je dus wel de nieuwste versie van Vagrant en Virtualbox bijvoorbeeld? Die twee botsen af en toe op mijn werk ook.

Klopt, maar opzich niet heel relevant voor dit. ondanks dat t kriebelt waarom het niet werkte kan ik iig door!
