A good desktop wallet for ETH?

Hi,
I would like to buy some ETH. What is a good desktop wallet to keep it? Something that doesn't need to download the full blockchain, if possible. (Like Electrum for XBT).

Welcome adamlevine,

You have to keep in mind that this is a Dutch forum. That doesn't mean it's strictly forbidden to talk English, but you have to keep in mind that Dutch is the main language here.
We do however have standards on this forum regarding own initiative in looking stuff up. These are very basic questions you ask that you can easily Google yourself.

There are a lot of different hot and cold wallets to keep your ETH in, so I do advice you to look stuff up. Most advise given would consider the amount of ETH you are holding. For higher amounts a cold/hardware wallet (like a Ledger of Trezor) is advised. For lower amounts almost any wallet will do, including the ones you mentioned. You can also choose to keep it on an exchange you trust, but you have to keep in mind that you do NOT own your private keys and thus your ETH that way. So please delve into it a little deeper so that you understand the risks regarding the wallet of your choosing.
