Hi,

I’m moving to Cape Town 1th April.

Currently I’ve a Dutch telephone number +316….

I've a comany in the Netherlands. Most of my clients are in the Netherlands, Germany, Scandinavia, Belgium. Due to this I want to keep my Dutch/00316… number. So I can call my clients from Cape Town with my Dutch number.

Currently I have a Vodafone sim only abbonement and still have a contract till November 2018. I called Vodafone and they told me it costs 270 EUR to stop contract and put it on other telephone abbonement. I looked at www.truphone.com for world wide bundels.
Also I’ve a dutch number true Skype.
I’ve a Huawei P9 Light and want to keep insurance on my telephone.

Who knows cheapest option with best conditions & good connection?

Sorry I forgot to mention the following:

I would like to call in the South Africa to clients in Netherlands, Germany, Scandinavia, Belgium. Also, I would like to receive calls from these countries.

Best would be if I keep my 00316 number! This would be the perfect solution. But, should I direct/forward calls, or should I need another provider?

Any advice is welcome.

Euh, en je vraag is precies? Vodafone zit ook in Zuid-Afrika (het land) en ik kan me voorstellen dat je je huidige abonnement misschien moet/kan omzetten naar een internationaal abonnement?

Anyhow, alles binnen een maand regelen is wat kort dag; ben zelfs bang dat als je vandaag met Vodafone een oplossing vindt voor je mobiele nummer, dat je alsnog e.e.a. moet afkopen of niet op 1 april over is naar het nieuwe land.

How about getting a Dutch Fixed number through VOIP (for example through localphone.com). Or even to your Dutch skype number.

Then you forward your Vodafone number to this number and you can receive these in South Africa as long as you have a data connection. This way you don't pay any international rates when receiving calls.

sound good. If I want to do sales can I do it from my Skype number? Do clients see my dutch mobile number?
Also, do a lot with wassup how can I keep reading these messages?

If you use your Skype number you will call out with your fixed skype number.

Some VOIP services (like localphone) allow to use your dutch mobile number to be listed as caller ID, as long as you verify this number (for example they'll send an SMS to your number with a verification code).
So you actually call out using VOIP, but your Dutch mobile number will be listed. So this is probably ideal.

Whatsapp works fine without the SIM being in use (as long as there's a data connection). Take into account that with a new South African SIM you shouldn't activate this in Whatsapp as this will replace the Dutch number. Some phones allow two instances of an App (like my Xiaomi redmi note) - this might also work if you want to use Whatsapp on your South African & Dutch number.

it works perfect thanx and Whatsap story also clear.. I installed my dutch number showing outgoing calls in skype. And when people call me on my mobile it redirects to Skype telephone number.

What do you prefer localphone or Skype?

Only issue is internet. In case I'm out for lunch and there is no internet my telephone will use a lot of data on my Dutch abbonement.

Spoke with Vodafone and they charge me 0,25EUR per minute for receiving calls true skype. I think need a phone with duo sim and buy local internet and use hotspot for dutch simcard. Without dutch simcard in my phone I can't receive redirected calls ture skype. Agree?
