Goedenavond Tweakers!
My pc stopped working out of the blue today. When I turned it off this morning, everything was working fine. Then I turned it on again this evening and the power came on, but nothing else happened.
I've followed all the guides on how to rule out each component. My PSU works, my fans turn on, I've removed all cards and drives one by one and tested each time, I've reset the CMOS (by taking out the battery), I've tried it with one stick of RAM, the RAM in different slots, with no RAM. Nothing helps and I don't get any POST beeps in any scenario, so I've come to the conclusion that it's most likely the mobo.
But!
The reason I'm not quite sure is that the lights on the mobo do come on, including the MemOK light (it's an ASUS H87-Pro), which happens if it detects a lack of RAM, so that seems to be working. There's no beep, but I'm not sure if I've ever heard my computer beep. It does have a system speaker though, I checked.
I've had this build for about four years, and it's always worked fine. Although I have had a few BSOD's in the last half year or so.
How likely is it that my mobo is indeed broken? Could that be the case despite the working lights?
Specs van mijn systeem:
i7-4770
ASUS H87-Pro
GTX 980
2x 8GB DDR3 Crucial Ballistix Tactical
Seasonic G-series 550w
Crucial MX100 SSD
Windows 10
Veel dank alvast!
