WhatsApp was to stop supporting updates on Nokia S40, Nokia S60 and BlackBerry operating systems as of June 30, 2017 However, there has been a slight change to this directive, much to the delight of some of those who currently use phones based on the said operating systems.
According to a new report, WhatsApp will only discontinue support for Nokia Symbian and S60 devices as from July 1 onwards, but those using the Nokia S40, BlackBerry 7+ and BlackBerry 10 devices will keep on receiving software updates until the end of this year. This is good news for those still using these platforms as they would have enough time to make the switch to a newer platform or rather device.
