Hmm, ja het kan wel,...ook als iedereen zegt van niet. probeer dit maar eens, werkt bij mij prima, is wel even lastig, maar resultaat is er ook naar. O enne alles wat je niet ziet, moet je zelf aanmaken. Succes
I own a Creative DXR3, plus a SB Live! MP3 5.1
I've tried EVERYTHING to get the 5.1 channels to work...Creative's own products don't carry along each other very well...and when i almost lost hope, i found a solution...
well, i actually got the solution from this same forum, and just changed it a bit.
The original message gave a fix for Hollywood + cards...well, Creative's DXR3 entry in the registry is in a different place, and some values are missing, so you have to manually add them.
Original fix:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sigma Designs\REALmagic\13]
"Description"="Sigma Designs REALmagic Quasar"
"Capabilities"=dword:00000027
"PcmOutputSpdif"=dword:00000000
"EnableSixchannelWave"=dword:00000000
"EnableWaveSpdif"=dword:00000001
"EnableDac"=dword:00000000
"enablespdif"=dword:00000001
"EnableMultiChannelWave"=dword:00000000
Now, for Dxr3, this values are at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Creative Tech\PC-DVD\Encore2\Drivers\MPEG\13] instead of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sigma Designs\REALmagic\13], and as I said some values have to be manually inserted, because they don't exist.
I have the latest drivers for the dxr3 and the sb live installed (downloaded from creative.com), and that's it...6 channels working...(this is true ac-3 decoding, because if you disable decoding in the sb live advanced options, the sound disappears completely; I've tried it with a couple of DVD's and it seems to give all independent analog channels.).
When you check Creative PC-DVD player advanced audio configuration, it appears as configured to use it's own spdif outputs...of course i don't have it connected, so it's not really using it...
Finally, a message stated that the key "EnableDS3D" had to be set to 1...it worked for me at 0 or 1...I guess this has to do something with the use of DirectSound 3D, or something, but i didn't see any effect (I left it at 1, which I assume is "TRUE" value).
